It is the ultimate goal of education and teaching to cultivate students' subject core quality,which is also the requirement of the development of society and the times.However,students in rural schools have little access to popular science resources,and the core literacy of chemistry is not high.In order to change this situation,this study takes the students in the school as the research object,carries out extracurricular popular science activities suitable for the age characteristics of the students and consistent with the chemistry teaching,and carries out various forms of popular science practices,such as popular science reading,popular science writing,video learning,family experiments,and discussion of social hot issues,using rich and interesting popular science resources.In the research,firstly,the core literacy of chemistry is analyzed and interpreted,which is divided into the literacy of chemistry concept,scientific practice and value pursuit.Then,it classifies and selects many popular science resources.According to the core literacy of the above three disciplines,it carries out the practice of popular science based on problems,family experience and project-based learning.In the process of practice,the interaction between teachers and students should be strengthened to encourage students to reflect.Through the methods of investigation and interview,case study,and students' homework analysis,the effect of science popularization practice on improving the core quality of junior middle school students' chemistry discipline was investigated.A large number of practical researches show that popular science resources not only broaden students' vision,but also stimulate students' independent learning,deepen chemical concepts,acquire scientific thinking and methods,and cultivate students' sense of social responsibility,which is an effective way for rural schools to improve students' subject core literacy.
