A flat global economy and changing job demands,unprecedented global migration and changing community nature,identity and citizenship,climate instability and growing demands for global environmental management.The growing global interdependence that is characteristic of this era requires that this generation be able to participate effectively in the solution of global problems,as well as in the lives of local,national and global citizens.In short,engaging our students fully in the world of today and tomorrow requires us to nurture their global competencies in education.The stage of basic education is the most rapid period for the development of students.Therefore,it is of great value to cultivate students' global competence in the stage of basic education.This study collected three types of documents: "policy literature","academic literature",and "case literature" through the method of literature.It is mainly composed of five parts.The first part analyzes the background and goal of cultivating global competence in American basic education.The second part explores the implementation path of cultivating students' global competence in basic education in the United States.There are three main ways,which are constructing global competency courses,designing global competency teaching,and setting global competency evaluation.The curriculum focuses on integrating global competencies into the subject curriculum,organizing interdisciplinary courses with global themes,introducing international diploma courses,focusing on foreign language courses and comprehensive practical activity courses.Teaching mainly includes project-based teaching,service learning,comparative teaching methods,and the introduction of digital technology.The evaluation is supplemented by the formative evaluation and the summary evaluation.The above authors are supplemented by specific cases.The third part explores the supportive measures adopted by the United States through four levels: teacher level,school level,government level,and institutional level,so that global competency education can be carried out smoothly in the basic education stage.At the teacher level,strengthen the training of global competence for pre-service teachers and post-service teachers.At the school level,build an international campus culture and build rich partnerships.At the government level,formulate policy plans and strategic goals to increase the focus on global competence,establish frameworks and revise standards to define the requirements that students and teachers need to meet.At the institutional level,research and develop a global competency indicator system,providing rich project resources and funding.The fourth part analyzes the influence of American hegemonism,racial discrimination and preferential policies in the process of cultivating students' global competence in the basic education stage,as well as the problems of educational equity,the challenges of popularizing the new evaluation system and improving the core curriculum.In the fifth part,according to the research results,the author proposes specific countermeasures and suggestions from the implementation level,teacher level,school level,government level,and institution level,in order to successfully cultivate students' global competence in the basic education stage.
