Under the background of globalization, competition and cooperation among countries and regions of the world is increasing.Every country or region needs more and more talented persons with the global competence to adjust to the challenges of the current era.The internationalization of higher education has become one possible response to such challenges. In order to narrow the gap between Universities of China and the world-class universities in other developed countries, research universities in China have taken many endeavors to develop the internationalization, but the focus are mainly on the increasing of numbers of international exchange programs, students studying abroad, foreign teachers, etc.Generally speaking, the development of the students'global competence is ignored. This study chooses Nanjing University's undergraduates from Grade 2,Grade 3,and Grade 4 as research subjects to investigate the impact of college students' global experience on their development of global competence.3933 students were surveyed by the questionnaire of research university undergraduate study experience. And the data was analyzed by SPSS 16.0 statistical analysis software. On the basis of a questionnaire survey, this study further interviewed 14 students from the level of junior to senior. The research tries to do the following tasks:1.To extract the specific structure of the dimensions of global capabilities through factor analysis technique.2.To describe the current situation of students' global competence and the global experience according to the descriptive statistical analysis results.3.To analyze whether the difference of global competence in terms of gender, grade, subject, urban and rural background, and education level of their parents is significant. And the effect size(?2)is used to analyze the scale of the ditfference.4.To analyze the impact of the student background, global academic experience, global interaction experience on global competence by hierarchical regression analysis.According to the analysis of the data, there are the following main findings:1.Findings show that the general level of the global competence of Nanjing University's undergraduate is not high. And the global skills are better than the global comprehension.2.The intrinsic influences of student characteristics were also examined. The study found that student characteristics have significant influences on the global competence of Nanjing University's undergraduates, such as gender, grade, subject nature, but the effect size show that the scale of the difference was not large.3.The result through hierarchical regression analysis indicates that students'global academic experience and experience of global interaction play a significant role on the development of students' global competence.
