The mathematics curriculum standard of general high school(2017 Edition)puts forward higher requirements for the cultivation of students' learning ability. In the college entrance examination,we have also strengthened the investigation of statistical content, which shows the status of mathematics reading. The "four abilities" of problem-solving ability was put forward in the curriculum standard of senior high school for the first time, which also shows that the position of "problem-solving" in mathematics teaching is gradually promoted. The most critical step of problem solving is "problem representation",which is closely related to mathematics learning. As a part of mathematics learning, mathematics reading and problem representation also affect each other to a certain extent. This study analyzes the correlation between problem representation ability and mathematics reading ability, which has theoretical and practical value. This paper takes senior one students of two four-star high schools of different levels in Jiangsu Province as the research object. On the basis of literature reading, the corresponding test paper is compiled. Then it analyzes the current situation of mathematical reading and problem representation from the perspective of statistics, and explores the internal relationship between them. The main conclusions are as follows.(1)The mathematics reading ability of senior one students is in the middle level.Students perform best in character encoding, second in language translation, and weakest in comprehensive understanding.(2)The problem representation level of senior one students is relatively single, mainly concentrated in the one-dimensional representation level of linear geometry, and generally in the lower middle level.(3)There is a positive correlation between mathematics reading ability and mathematics problem representation ability in general, and there is also a significant positive correlation between mathematics problem representation and three sub dimensions.(4)There are significant differences in the performance of mathematics reading among students with different problem representation ability, which is reflected in thesignificant positive correlation between mathematics reading ability and problem representation ability.(5)The differences of students' problem representation ability in different mathematics reading ability are as follows. There is no significant difference between the middle group and the high group. It shows that when the students' mathematics reading ability reaches a certain level, the influence on the problem representation gradually decreases.
