Rice is an important food crops,guaranteeing rice yield not only closely relates to food security sustainable development in our country,but also has direct impact with the enthusiasm of farmers who conduct with the production and management of rice.As a consequence,many scholars worked on how to improve rice yields,and the most fundamental factor that influences the rice volume of farmers is the rice production technical efficiency.Jianghan Plain is situated in the middle-south of Hubei Province.With flat terrain and good climate,the natural situation helps to the production of rice extremely.However,the cultivated per capita is few in our country and the land cannot be replaced.With the augmentation of other elements’ input,the marginal production will decrease gradually.Therefore,research based on the appropriate scale management view of the production technical efficiency of rice in Jianghan Plain has a very profound and lasting meaning.This article is based on the related theoretical knowledge of appropriate scale management and production technical efficiency.Firstly,the research begins with the production and management situation of rice farmers in Jianghan Plain.There are analyses of the sample farmer’s cultivated land features,family features and personal features,so that every element’s input and output situation of sample farmers under different management scales can be deeply understood.Then,based on the investigation data of Jianghan Plain,the transcendental logarithmic function of stochastic frontier production will be used to get the production technical efficiency of sample farmers.Three scale groups,big,medium,small,will be divided according to sample farmers’ management scales in order to research the distribution situation of farmers’production technical efficiency under different management scales and the influencing factors of production technical efficiency of the three scale groups.Finally,according to the research result,the researcher summarizes the research conclusions of whole article and provides some related political suggestion.The main conclusions are as follow:(1)The cultivated land feature of sample farmers in Jianghan Plain shows that the cultivated land quality is good,however,the management scale is relatively small,and that the cultivated land is in fragmentation,and that the fragmentation degree varies from famer to farmer greatly.The scales of sample farmers’family are around 3 to 6 persons and most of them who conduct with rice production are men with old age and low educational level.With the expansion of management scale,the rice per unit yield decreases.The input of labor force and pesticide reduce gradually,and the input of chemical fertilizer adds gradually.The input of labor force of medium management scale’s farmers is the least.(2)From the perspective of the technical efficiency level,the average of integrated sample farmers is high which reaches 84.76%.With the expansion of scale,the average technical efficiency will increase from 85.91%to 86.15%and then decrease to 82.15%,which shows an "inverted U curve".Based on this point,the most appropriate management scale of Jinaghan Plain is from 1 to 1.53 hectare.(3)Under different management scale,t he affect of every influencing factor to farmers’ rice production technical efficiency varies greatly.Within small management scale sample farmers,those with good health,high education,technology training has higher technical efficiency.Those who have bigger family,who have smaller average dimension of every cultivated land and who have subcontracted land have higher technical efficiency.Within medium management scale sample farmers,age and in debt or not will leave a negative influence on the technical efficiency while sex of the householder,educational level and subcontracted land will leave a positive influence on the technical efficiency.Within big management scale sample farmers,health condition,in debt or not and whether buying large machine will leave a negative influence on the technical efficiency.Based on survey data in Jianghan Plain,researcher explores the distribution of farmers’ production technical efficiency and its influencing factors at different scale,so that a realistic basis for approriate scale management of Jianghan Plain can be provided... |
