Since the 1990s,rural-to-urban migrant workers has experienced the "family separation" model of "partial migration, partial stay" to the increasingly popular "family migration" model. In order to further understand the residential choices of migrant workers with family migration and their influencing factors,we use CHIP2002,CHIP2007 and CHIP2008 data in the framework of "four priorities" to analyze the influence of family migration pattern on the residential choice of migrant workers and analyze whether the endogenous can lead to estimation bias.In addition, this paper also focuses on whether there are differences in the influencing factors of residential choice among different types of family migrant workers. The main conclusions are as follows:First, migrant workers with family migration are more likely to choose to rent or purchase an apartment to live, rather than live in the factory dormitories.Meanwhile, compared with purchasing the flat, the possibility of renting an apartment is higher.Second, migrant workers with high net family income level are more likely to choose the rental and self-owned house.Third, migrant workers' "liquidity priority" affect their residential choices. In other words, those who plan to live in urban areas permanently have the greatest possibility to choose to live in the rental and self-owned house.Fourth, the level of economic development of the cities where migrant workers work has a significant impact on the residential choices of migrant workers, that is,migrant workers with family migration in the western cities prefer to living in self-owned house.Fifth, the type of occupation to a certain extent, affects the residential choices of migrant workers.Individually private owners and skilled workers are more likely to rent or buy a house to live, but industrial workers and service workers are more likely to live in the factory dormitories.Sixth, different types of families in terms of the socio-economic situation can result in the different residential choices."Husband and wife and children living together" subject to fewer constraints. But the "three generations living together" have the smallest constraints.According to the results of the study,we try to make the following suggestions for migrant workers' residential choices:First, the government should expand the supply of low-rent housing for migrant workers with family migration;second, migrants should be gradually included into the urban housing security system;third, actions should be taken to encourage migrants to migrant to western cities and gradually convert them to citizens.
