Shanghai is the first city in China to enter the aging population. As of 2016,the elderly aged over 60 in Shanghai accounted for 30.2% of the population of Shanghai, maintaining the highest record of the country's aging. With the rapid development of an aging population, the life expectancy is also prolonged, the probability of suffering from chronic diseases is greatly increased and the number of disabled elderly surge, which indicates that there is a huge market demand for the elderly care services. However, the increasingly miniaturizationof family structure, the lack of care insurance, the slow development of nursing institutions and other issues make a serious shortage of the supply of Long-term Care.Long-term Care insurance,as a health insurance, can compensate for medical expenses due to chronic illness or disability and provide the appropriate care services. Therefore, the establishment of the Elderly Care Insurance System with Chinese characteristics is of great significance to solve the problem of population aging and its derivation. To establish the system of Elderly Care Insurance in line with national conditions,we need to investigate the needs of Elderly Care Insurance and its influencing factors.Based on the combination of questionnaires and interviews, this paper studies the influencing factors of elderly residents' care insurance demand in Shanghai. This paper adopts the method of qualitative research and quantitative research. In terms of qualitative research,it focuson the analysis of Shanghai residents on the specific needs of the elderly care insurance and demand differences. Then, combined with the contents of the interview,Ianalyze the reasons for the differences in careinsurance demand. In terms of quantitative research,it focuson the impact of Shanghai residents on the elderly care insurance demand of what factors.Because of the strong correlation between some factors, this paper designs the scale on the basis of the existing mature scale. Then, the factors of the scale were dimensioned by factor analysis.Six common factors were extracted and analyzed with demographic Factors and health factors to carry out regression analysis.Through empirical study,we found that the main factors affecting the demand for Long-term Care Insurance are: physical health factors, the concept of insurance factors, the concept of pension factors and the ability to pay. Finally,on the basis of empirical research and the specific contents of the interview, this paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions, hoping to provide some empirical basis for the establishment of Long-term Care Insurance in China. This paper is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction. The research background and the research significance are put forward, and the related research on the Long-term Care Insurance at home and abroad is summarized and collated. In the second part, the related concepts of Long-term Care Insurance are defined, and the characteristics of Long-term Care Insurance are different from other health risks. The relevant theories are analyzed and the theoretical basis of this study is laid.In the third part, according to the theoretical basis and literature review, this paper designs the questionnaire, puts forward the research hypothesis and carries on the pre-investigation.In the fourth part, the empirical analysis is carried out by using SPSS software.Firstly, the descriptive statistical analysis of the survey data is carried out. Then, the demand difference is analyzed by using cross-column analysis. Finally, combined with demographic variables, all variables were analyzed by Logistic regression to verify the hypothesis. The fifth part, according to the empirical analysis results, draw conclusions and accordingly put forward targeted countermeasures and suggestions.
