At present,China has entered a period of economic development and transformation. The country has shifted from focusing on the number of economic development to paying attention to the quality of economic development with the increasing attention of ecological environmental protection. As an important area in Chinese regional development, the Yangtze River Economic Belt is a pole for economic growth. The key to achieving economic quality improvement and ecological environmental protection is to improving the level of green development. In the construction of ecological civilization, the green development linear belt and demonstration belt are the positioning and “Do not engage in large-scale development and jointly protect large areas” is the criterion for the green development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Green concept is a significant strategy for china's development leading the process of social and economic development as one of the five development concepts. The green development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is important for economic and environment.Based on the evaluation index system, the paper measures the green development indexes of 108 prefecture-level cities in Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2003 to 2016 using entropy weight-TOPSIS method and analyzes its spatial-temporal evolution by Theil Index. It constructs different weight matrix from the perspective of Multi-dimensional space and adopts spatial Durbin model to analyze the influencing factors of the green development Indexes in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and proposes policy suggestions finally. The results show that: From 2003 to 2016,the green development index of the Yangtze River Economic Belt generally showed an upward trend, with the order is the eastern region, the central region and the western region; The high-level areas for green development are mainly concentrated in the developed cities of the eastern region and the core cities and capital cities of the central and western regions. The internal differences of green development in the three regions of East,Central and West are greater than the differences between regions. The internal differences in the eastern, central and western regions are the main factor leading to the gap of green development in the economic belt while the internal difference in the eastern region is the largest. The green development indexes of prefecture-level cities have significant correlation under the geographical, economic and government capacity proximity weight matrix, and the correlation of green development indexes of cities is the strongest under the economic level proximity weight matrix. The spatial effect of influencing factors of green development indexes is different under Multi-dimensional Space.Scientific and technological talents, industrial structure, foreign investment and consumer demand all have positive direct effect on the region;scientific and technological talents has negative indirect effect, meanwhile industrial structure has positive spatial spillover effect and total effects;however, population pressure has negative spatial spillover effects and total effects. It is of practical significance providing a new research perspective and conclusions for the green development of the prefecture-level city scale in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Based on research analysis, this paper proposes the following recommendations: Increase environmental regulation and rationally introduce foreign investment;Strengthen regional interaction and cooperation to promote talent exchange;Improve population carrying capacity and alleviate population pressure.
