An Empirical Study On The Impact Of The Development Of China's ICT Industry On The Upgrading Of Regional Industrial Structure

Since entering the era of "digital economy",a new system is based on the ICT industry which converged all the other industries.As the result of the technological progress,the new format developing from ICT industry has become the new path of the industrial transformation.Through the theoretical arrangement,index calculation and empirical research,this dissertation is studying the development of ICT industry and its influence on the upgrading of regional industrial structure.First,based on the theoretical research and literature review,this dissertation establishes a basic theory system,which includes the theories of regional industrial upgrading,techno-economic paradigm,technology diffusion and industry convergence,and analyze the path through which the ICT industry influences region industrial structure.Via affecting social demand,resource supply,technological progress and economic policy environment,the technology diffusion and industrial convergence of ICT industry can work,and then promote the upgrading of regional industrial structure.Furthermore,this dissertation launches the empirical study on the development of ICT industry and its influence on the upgrading of regional industrial structure.First,this passage assesses the level of Chinese industry upgrading,for the part of comprehensive level,level of height and the level of rationalization.As the result,the comprehensive level and the level of height is rising nationwide,but the level of rationalization is decreasing;second,this passage researches the development of ICT industry and its effect of technology diffusion and industry convergence.The study finds that the employment level of ICT industry is increasing,as well as its export level of product and service.Besides,after a period of buffer,the trend of technology diffusion and industry convergence emerge rise;third,this dissertation establishes a meso-meric effect model,whose dependent variables are the three kinds of the level of Chinese industry upgrading,and the independent variable is the employment of ICT industry,and the mediate variables are the level of technology diffusion and industry convergence of ICT industry.Through the empirical research,some phenomena appearing:in China,the technology diffusion of ICT manufacturing industry and the industry convergence of ICT Service industry are influence the overall upgrading of industrial structure;in the eastern region,the development and the technology diffusion of ICT industry promotes the level of the industrial upgrading,especially the level of industrial rationalization;but in the midland and western region,the effect of the development of ICT industry on the industrial upgrading is not complete released.But the positive effect has appeared.Finally,the author combines the theoretical analysis and empirical conclusions,and brings up the suggestion:focusing on the role of ICT industry in promoting the upgrading of regional industrial structure;promoting the healthy development of ICT manufacturing and ICT services by classification;optimizing the environment which is benefit to the upgrading of industrial structure.
