The rapid development of the global tourism industry has intensified the water crisis in tourism destinations and constrained regional sustainable development.Since the active development of tourism in the Yuanyang Hani Terrace area, tourism water consumption has continued to increase, making local water use structure change.Water disputes and conflicts have frequently occurred between villages and villages, farmers and farmers, and which have unsatisfactory influences on local social stability, economic development, and ecological environment. This study takes water conflict between Huangcaoling and Hetaozhai, the heritage of Haney terrace in Yuanyang,as a case study. The political ecology perspective is used to understand how economical, social, cultural, institutional and resources factors come together and result in water conflicts,The internal logic of the evolution of water conflict is studied according to " review water conflict incident-analyze the causes of water conflict-resolve water conflict " the basic train thought with the method of field investigation.First of all,it describes water conflicts occurring between two villages in detail before and after the development of tourism, and divides water conflict after tourism development into four stages of the emergence of problems, the occurrence of conflicts, the distortion of understanding(cognition)and the appearance of crisis.Secondly,it uses Ostrom's social-ecological framework to statistically analyze the possible causes of sustainable use of water resources within the village and the four dimensions of supply-demand-management-environment is used for the analysis of the possible causes of water conflicts among villages;Thirdly, the paper analyze the changes in the water use and water intake structure among village in the context of tourism development and then the changes of water intake between Huangcaoling and Hetaozhai.Simultaneously, analyzes Water conflict of the two villages from the perspective of water rights. The results show that the main cause of water conflict are the water intake imbalance between the two villages in the water source area and the unclear ownership of water rights;tourism development is the key factor in the multiple factors that led to the conflict. It points out that the ownership of the right to take water must be clearly defined, the management of tourism water resources should be improved,so that tourism villages can achieve sustainable development. This study expands the perspective of water conflict research, and focuses on the special village areas affected by tourism. The use of SES and water rights theory explains well the path of water conflicts occurrence in the context of tourism development. So as to provide a solution to practical problems in reality, which also enrich the existing researches concerning water conflict and tourism.
