Manufacturing is the main body of the national economy.It is the foundation for building a country,developing the country and strengthening the nation.After 40 years of reform and opening up,China's manufacturing industry has made remarkable achievements and has successfully ranked among the world's largest manufacturing powers.The development of manufacturing industry has promoted China's economic development and promoted China's international status.However,at present,China's economy has changed from the stage of high-speed growth to the stage of high-quality development.In the key period of transforming the development mode,optimizing the economic structure and transforming the driving force of growth,the traditional development mode of manufacturing industry has become unsustainable.It is urgent to change the development mode and optimize and upgrade the industrial structure.supply-side structural reform as the main line,to promote economic development quality change,efficiency change,dynamic change,improve total factor productivity,and constantly enhance China's economic innovation and competitiveness.At present,the development of China's manufacturing industry has entered a critical period of "climbing over the hill".In this process,it is difficult to realize the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry and smooth transition in a relatively short period of time only relying on the manufacturing industry itself and relying on the domestic related factors.Therefore,the transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing industry must rely on external forces,while in the process of upgrading.Nowadays,with the increase of the importance of knowledge,technology and other emerging factors,the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry must rely on these factors,and services trade itself has the characteristics of knowledge and technology intensive,so the increase of imports of services trade is conducive to promoting the accumulation of knowledge,technology and other emerging factors in manufacturing industry,thereby promoting the upgrading of manufacturing industry.Transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry.In order to study the relationship between the import of service trade and the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry,this paper attempts to explore the relationship between the two from a spatial perspective using China's provincial data.In order to explore the relationship between the import of service trade and the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry,this paper first analyzes the present situation of the import of service trade and mamufacturing industry,and find that the overall level of China's service trade has been rising rapidly,imports have increased significantly,import growth has slowed down but the import structure has been constantly optimized,but the level of service trade openness in China needs to be further improved.This will help to further increase the types and quantity of service trade and promote the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industries.As far as manufacturing industry is concerned,China's manufacturing industry has made remarkable achievements in the past 40 years of reform and opening up,and its international status has risen sharply to become the world's largest manufacturing country.Green development,circular development and low-carbon development have made certain achievements,and transformation and upgrading have achieved certain results.However,China's manufacturing industry is still in a "big but not strong" state,which needs transformation and upgrading to meet the new requirements of China's economic development.On the theoretical side,based on the literature review of domestic and foreign scholars,this paper starts from the theory of division of labor,comparative advantage theory,intra-industry trade theory and national competitive advantage theory,from the aspects of technology spillover effect,human capital effect and outsourcing service.The paper analyzes the impact of service trade import on the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry.The theory shows that the import of service trade can optimize the resource allocation,reduce manufacturing costs,and let manufacturing enterprises focus on the core business that affects their own development,thus promoting the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry.In the empirical aspect,this paper firstly uses China's provincial panel data Moran's I index test from the spatial perspective to analyze the possibility of spatial Durbin model application,and then discusses the impact of service trade import on the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry.Considering the spatial spillover effect and the robustness of the results,this paper constructs the geospatial weight matrix,the distance space weight matrix and the economic distance space weight matrix respectively by using the spatial Durbin model which has been developing continuously in recent years,and upgrades the transformation and upgrading of China's service trade import to manufacturing industry in 2008-2013.Empirical research is conducted.The results show that the increase in service trade imports can indeed promote the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry.However,in the eastern and central and western regions of China,the eastern region is in the post-industrial period and the import of service trade is large,so the increase in service trade imports can promote the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry,while the central and western regions are in the middle and late stages of industrialization and the import of service trade is small,so the increase in service trade imports cannot promote the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry in the central and western regions.Finally,on the basis of summarizing the conclusions of the study,this paper puts forward five policy suggestions:first,according to the different levels of economic development and the development of manufacturing industry in eastern and central and western regions of China,we should be different emphasis on import trade;second,considering the regional particularity,we must proceed from the overall perspective.And establish a global awareness.Third,expand the import of service trade,especially to expand the import of new service trade.Fourth,increase the openness of services trade;fifth,promote the integration of manufacturing industry with the Internet and large data,promote service-oriented manufacturing,and enhance the level of information technology.
