| Under the background of the masculine characteristics of labor outflow and non-agricultural transfer, the main responsibility of family labor falls on the shoulders of women, they must take care of their children and the elderly while carrying out agricultural production, women have become the main contributor to family development and play an important role in family poverty reduction. However, the drag of housework and agriculture also prevents women from having equal opportunities with men in non-agricultural employment, gender discrimination is serious, the stereotyped gender role concept makes women’s self-development ability and status in an unequal state with men for a long time, and there are significant differences between the sexes in the degree of recognition of human capital and labor value. Therefore,in order to give full play to the power of women in anti-poverty research,we must pay attention to the application of gender dividends, promote gender equality in employment opportunities, and adjust and improve the gender structure of the labor market.Gender equality is an important key to opening the door of gender dividends, therefore, taking women’s development needs and gender equality as the focus of poverty alleviation work is of practical significance to achieve targeted poverty alleviation, alleviate poverty and improve poverty alleviation performance. This paper uses the survey data of poverty villages in Gansu Province to analyze the effect of rural women’s status on family poverty reduction from the perspective of family gender dividend.Based on domestic and international literature review and relevant theoretical basis, the interaction between different status of women and the impact of gender discrimination in non-agricultural employment on women’s status and poverty are deduced.,based on this, the influence mechanism of women’s status on family poverty was analyzed. Then, the status of women in poverty-stricken areas is explored, the mean and t-test methods and Logit model are used to study the gender differences in non-agricultural employment and their influencing factors, decomposed by the nonlinear Oaxaca-Blinder model to explore the degree of gender discrimination in non-agricultural employment in poor areas, then comprehensive evaluation of women’s status at the regional level and women’s status at the farmer level is carriedout through the establishment of a comprehensive evaluation index system. On this basis,a descriptive statistical analysis of the impact of the status of women on the poverty of farmers is used to compare the differences between the status of women in poor and non-poor households.OLS and quantile regression methods were used to analyze the impact of women’s status on household income growth and income gap,and using the binary Logit model to explore the impact of women’s status on the probability of poverty among farmers,to comprehensively empirically examine the impact of women’s status on family poverty. Finally,it is concluded that gender discrimination is the main factor causing gender differences in non-agricultural employment, rural poverty-stricken areas have more serious gender discrimination problems;the status of women within farmers is higher than that of regional women, that is,the gender endowment difference within the family is smaller than the gender endowment of the region;the higher the status of women, the more conducive to reducing the poverty level of farmers, the status of women has a positive impact on farmers’ poverty reduction, among which women’s occupational status has the strongest effect on poverty reduction.Based on the above conclusions, policy recommendations for improving the status of women, promoting gender equality and eliminating gender discrimination are proposed. |
