| ZTE's “ban on sale” incident has pushed the Sino-US trade dispute to a climax,exposing the shortcomings in China's semiconductor field,especially in the field of integrated circuits.In 2017,China's integrated circuit imports amounted to 260.14 billion US dollars,becoming the largest import commodity,while the export value was only 66.88 billion US dollars.The huge trade deficit is behind the high tolerance of China's integrated circuits.As an outstanding representative of China's high-tech enterprises,ZTE has made great contributions to the development of China's communications industry.However,a "blocking order" by the US government immediately puts it in a desperate situation.This incident has made us deeply aware that there is a huge risk behind the prosperity of China's communications equipment manufacturing industry.The boundary between communication technology(CT)and information technology(IT)has become increasingly blurred.Traditional communication equipment manufacturers are gradually transforming into ICT enterprises.The division of labor of ICT enterprises is constantly being refined,chips,optical components,panels,and assembly of whole machine,the industrial chain is distributed all over the world.The convenience of global procurement greatly promotes the technological development of the communication industry.However,it also causes the communication equipment manufacturers to lose the driving force of basic research and development.Careful analysis found that in the ICT industry chain,China's advantages are mainly concentrated in the assembly of the whole machine,at the end of the industrial chain,large demand and strong dependence on upstream products,and the upstream products will eventually be passed to downstream products.The 5G era is coming soon,"Made in China 2025" shoulders the revitalization of China's manufacturing industry,bringing significant opportunities to ZTE and China's ICT industry,the cornerstone of the communication industry,such as operating system software and integrated circuits,requires China's ICT companies to jointly build.Through the combination of literature research and data analysis,this paper uses the "diamond model",PEST model,value chain analysis,etc.to study the ZTE's industrial chain,R&D investment,R&D efficiency,patent application,core technology,etc.Analysis of ZTE's strategic transformation opportunities,hope to summarize its achievements,find its shortcomings,and strive to provide reference for the transformation of China's ICT enterprises.In the specific research path of the thesis,first analyze the industry overview of ZTE,and then describe the operation status of similar enterprises at home and abroad,and the current status of ZTE's R&D strategy.Then analyze the risks and environment of its R&D strategy and reveal its R&D strategy transformation.Finally,analyze the transformation opportunities,use the combination of chart and text to describe the path and goals of R&D strategic transformation,and give suggestions for transformation. |
