At present,the development of Internet industry in China is very fast.With the increasing number of Internet users,the Internet has been applied to every corner of people's lives."Internet+" has risen to a national strategy.The birth of platform-based products has greatly increased the speed of integration of traditional industries and the Internet.With the success of a large number of platform-based products,it is gradually found that the success of the platform-based business model has contributed to the development of platform-based products.What concepts should be followed in designing and planning a platform-based product and what aspects should be taken to design and plan a platform-based product have attracted more and more attention.By taking Wechat as an example,this paper applies the knowledge and theory learned by engineering management specialty to practical research topics.By reviewing the causes and development process of Wechat,and then comparing the two products,the organizational structure,development team membership,product business logic,product positioning and development opportunities of the two products are compared.The evolution process of Wechat platform product is analyzed,and a platform product is designed.In the process,we should follow five design concepts:friendly and concise operation interface;efficient organization structure;correct product positioning;self-owned core development team;and user-centered design concept in the process of requirement analysis.At the same time,we use the business model canvas tool to analyze the nine elements of the business model of Wechat platform product in detail.Through the detailed analysis of the nine elements of value proposition,key business,customer relationship,core resources,customer segmentation,channel access,important partners,cost structure and revenue source,we can get the process of designing a platform product.We should first locate the multilateral market,then stimulate the network effect of the multilateral market,then give the users of the platform a sense of belonging,and finally determine their own key profit model.In this paper,the research on the design and planning of platform products is not deep enough.For example,although it involves the specific design concept of platform products and the work needed to be completed in the planning of platform products,the detailed operation of platform products in practical design,the problems that may be encountered in the implementation process and the matters needing attention in the process need to be studied and discussed in the future.At the same time,the analysis case used in this paper is Wechat.The final conclusion may only be applicable to platform enterprises which have accumulated huge user resources or have strong financial support.It is very likely that it is not suitable for entrepreneurial platform enterprises.In practice,it needs to be constantly summarized and upgraded.
