On The Construction Of Characteristic Towns In Jinzhong City

China’s "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" puts forward clear requirements for the development of the rural areas.The plan points out that it is necessary to vigorously develop the intensive processing of agricultural products and rural service industries,develop an economy with county characteristics,and accelerate the pace of construction of small and medium-sized cities and characteristic small towns.It aims to increase the channels for farmers’ income growth and enhance the endogenous motivation of rural development.This shows that an important task of urbanization development during the 13 th Five-Year Plan period is the construction of characteristic towns.Accelerating the construction and development of small towns,especially characteristic towns,is of great significance for promoting new urbanization,accelerating modern agriculture,building a new socialist countryside,and realizing the integration of urban and rural areas.This paper analyzes the current situation of the construction of characteristic towns in Jinzhong City,including the economic development of Jinzhong City,the construction of different types of characteristic towns,and the construction experience of Jinzhong City’s characteristic towns.The economic development mainly analyzes the status quo of industrial development and the level of urbanization development in Jinzhong City.The construction of different types of characteristic towns mainly analyzes the characteristic endowment-type towns—the small characteristics of Dazhai Town in Xiyang County,historical and cultural characteristic town-Yangshuo’s "three rural" town in Taigu,industrial type characteristic town-Tiansen tomato town,cultural tourist town – Jingsheng town in Lingshi County,focusing on the basic conditions,major advantages,main practices,and existing problems in the construction of these characteristic towns.Through the analysis of the construction of different types of characteristic towns,the experience and the problems existing in the construction are more clear.To make the construction of characteristic towns better in Jinzhong,the author offers some countermeasures to such problems as incomprehensive construction,lack of integrity,slow construction,Inadequate public service facilities,environmental pollution,and lack of technical talents and management talents.
