ZB factory is the main part of the HG company,and the annual production is about 1.65 million ton.The products are commonly used in many areas for the economy development of China.This factory made the main part of the profit of HG company.Since 2008,the financial crisis wept all over the world,and made most of the company face a serious challenge.And in this crisis most of the steel making industry suffers impact.In this moment,the steel making companies are forced to take steps such as change their marketing strategy,reunite and use management innovation to survive the crisis.Accordingly,to reduce the manufacturing cost and to improve the efficiency is the target of the steps taken.The management of the equipment has a important influence on the producing plan,timing for implementation of the order,balance of the production process.So,as the main supporting section which takes the responsibility of the equipment management will take actions.When putting the TPM into practice the maintenance section encountered a lot of problems such as changing of the concept of the employees,the standard TPM procedures were not well implemented,communication failed,analysis of the effects not done and so on.Especially during the practice of the TPM how to make the employees to understand the aim and target is a heavy task.In the actions of TPM let the employees clearly know the every procedure by such kind of visualized message board.Checking and supervising the TPM process is also very important for TPM process.The key process indexes of TPM are OEE,cost of maintenance and spare parts numbers.To make the employee work actively an efficient checking method is needed,and with the above mentioned checking indexes the employee will work more efficient.TPM is successful or not depends on the equipment shutdown ratio.But to know the effect will take a long time.In this paper,during TPM actions of the ZB,the target set by the company was reached,and cost of maintenance was dramatically reduced.The author the paper is going to take the TPM in ZB factory as a model to analyze in details.A lot of data,diagrams are used in the paper to illustrate the main problems faced,the way to improve during the practice of TPM.And definitely this paper will be a good reference for other companies.
