Since founded in2009, Shanghai LNG Company Ltd has become one of the three main supply sources of natural gas for Shanghai, the other two sources are West-east Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline and Pinghu Gas Field in East China Sea. In2012, over50%of natural gas for Shanghai was supplied by Shanghai LNG which has become the main source of natural gas for Shanghai. To provide reliable natural gas source for economic development and people in Shanghai is the mission and social responsibility of Shanghai LNG. Meanwhile, since LNG industry has just commenced only for a few years in China, the production process, main production equipment and facilities are from abroad and experiences are lack for safe and reliable operation, it is very important to enhance and improve the maintenance management level for equipment and facilities so as to minimize the impact of breakdown and shutdown.This article expounds the basic theories and development trend of equipment maintenance management in China and abroad. The author is trying to explore a vital, innovative and efficient mode suit for Shanghai LNG equipment maintenance management, featured with new and efficient RCM (Reliability Centered Management) mode. Through bold innovation and practice, we try to gradually construct the efficient maintenance management pattern suit for LNG industry so as to realize the safe and reliable operation of equipment, seek maximum efficiency for equipment and maximize the economic and social benefit of Shanghai LNG Company Ltd.
