With the rising of labor cost and increasingly market competition in China,the manufacturing factory is facing enormous pressure of survival in the Pearl River Delta region,the labor-intensive manufacturing factories face severely manufacturing cost challenges,and the profit margin is trending down.In addition,the labor force has been declining year by year in recently years,manufacturing factories have serious issue of"labor force shortage".In order to meet customer's requirement for cost down,F company want to improve the production management of L project by using lean production methodology,the purpose of kaizen is to eliminate waste,reduce production headcount and improve efficiency.In this thesis,firstly it introduces F company and overview of L project;secondly,it identifies the problem of low production utilization rate,low production efficiency and low level of automation assembly in L project,and also analyzes the reasons.Then,it recommends solving the problem by taking lean solutions such as designing mixed production lines,optimizing floor layout,improving line balance rate,using SMED and introducing semi-Auto assembly line etc.Finally,this paper evaluates the effectiveness of the improvement measurement and summarizes the conclusions,and also briefs the areas what need to improve further in future.During the kaizen,lean tools and methods were used for analysis including the ECRS principle,SMED.technology,visual field management,fish bone diagram,process flow chart.Based on the result of before and after kaizen,it is concluded that lean production management is a practical and effective production management methodology,it promotes factory to eliminate waste,improve manufacturing efficiency and cut down costs.
