Application Study Of Lean Production On Production Management In E Transmission Company

Lean Production as the advanced production method,the key is to reduce the wastes.To implement Lean Production can help the company to eliminate the wastes,reduce the inventory,short the lead time,improve productivity,lower the operation cost,fast respond the market,meet customers' requirements,and continuously enhance the competitiveness of the company.E company is a wholly owned company of a big global company.The main products are heavy duty manual transmissions and automated transmissions of commercial vehicle,and the gears and shafts of the transmissions.The target customers are the OEM of heavy duty trucks,buses and coach,vocational vehicle in domestic and Asia Pacific markets.Since the market share of E company is very low and the operation costs are very high,so to reduce the cost,improve the productivity and products competitiveness are the one of key tasks of the company.This paper utilized the key thinking of Lean Production to discuss how to solve the issue of production management,in order to reduce the manufacturing cost and improve the economic results of the company.First,the paper introduced the theory and tools of Lean Production.Second,the paper analyzed and described the current status and issues of production management,selected the front countershaft of the company as the study object,and used VSM to identify the issues of production and provided the actions of improvement.At last,the paper used the tools of Lean Production to implement the actions which identified from VSM analysis.The actions of improvement included 5S management,TPM of hobbing machine,setup reduction of shaving machine,and process optimization of grinding process.Through this lean deployment,all the identified issues and related actions are closed.The productivity and manufacturing cost were improved.Also it heightened the morale of the employees and improved the engagement of continuous improvement.
