The Compilation And Application Of Vegetable Basket Price Index In Yunnan Province

The “vegetable basket project” has a long history of more than 30 years since it was first proposed.As a link between citizens and farmers,the price level of “vegetable basket” is closely related to the basic living problems of urban and rural residents,and even more related to the vital interests of the people.The basket of goods take the spot transactions in the retail market,the number of transactions is small,and the price is vulnerable because of the seasonal variation,the fluctuation of climate,the production conditions,the supply and demand relation,the wholesale price and the market location,thus,compared with other commodities,the price fluctuation of the basket of goods is more frequent and intense,the living standard of residents is affected by the sharp price fluctuations.The price of the basket of goods cannot be reflected by the consumer price index or other relevant price index due to the particularity of vegetable basket retail market,therefore,it's particularly important to build an index according to the actual situation of regional to describe and measure the price fluctuations of the basket of goods.Based on the background and significance of the research,this study puts forward a compilation method of the vegetable basket price index of Yunnan province and the preparation of each states from the actual situation,and makes an empirical application and analysis based on the proposed theoretical methods.The main work of this study includes the following three aspects:Firstly,this study elaborates the significance of the construction of vegetable basket price index in Yunnan province,and sorts out the domestic and international compilation method of price index,the domestic compilation of vegetable basket price index by using the method of literature research,and determining the basic compilation method of this study is weighted average index method.Secondly,according to the actual situation of Yunnan province,this study discusses the compilation method of the basket price index of Yunnan province and the preparation of each states from eight aspects including the establishment of principles,Composition of index system,the selection of commodities,the determination of base period,the selection of the price collection,the formula and preparation method,the determination of the weight and the processing of the missing value,and compiles a set of basket price index system of Yunnan province.Thirdly,based on the mentioned compilation method of vegetable basket price index of Yunnan province and the preparation of each states,this study conducts an empirical application and analysis of the compilation of vegetable basket price index of Yunnan province and the preparation of each states according to the current price data.To begin with,using the Excel and R language to preprocess the data of vegetable basket commodity of Yunnan province from 2015 to 2017,according to the actual situation,the data from 2016 to 2017 is selected for the actual compilation of vegetable basket price index of Yunnan province and the preparation of each states,also verified the feasibility of the compilation method of vegetable basket price index of Yunnan province and the preparation of each states proposed in this study.Then,according to the size of Per Capita GDP,the price index of Kunming,Zhaotong and the whole province is selected to study its fluctuation characteristics.The analysis shows that the characteristics of the price indexes of the same area is different in price change trend and price fluctuation range,and the fluctuation characteristics of vegetable basket price index exist similarities and differences among areas with different levels of economic development.
