Research On Temporal And Spatial Evolution Of Tourism Competitiveness Of Provincial Capital Cities And Municipalities In Western China

The western region boasts rich and diverse tourism resources and unique advantages in the development of tourism.So systematic study of the provincial capital cities and municipalities directly under the central government in western city tourism competitiveness in two dimensions of time and space differences,and try to seek the regional urban tourism competitiveness difference obvious decisive factor,so as to guide the rational development of regional urban tourism and development,has become a vital problem.This paper takes 11 provincial capitals and Chongqing in the western region as the research object.Using index reference frequency statistics and expert consultation,the index system was selected for direct reference,and then the data was processed by SPSS17,a software.At last determine the principal component analysis method as the research method in this paper.This paper analyzes and evaluates the tourism competitiveness of 12 western provinces and cities from 2002 to 2016.At the same time,GIS spatial analysis method and Arc GIS10.2 software were used to draw the spatial and temporal grade distribution map of urban tourism competitiveness,and the spatial and temporal evolution characteristics were obtained.This thesis is divided into six parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the research background,significance,progress,content,methods and ideas.The second part mainly introduces related concepts(competitiveness,urban competitiveness)and theories(comparative advantage theory,sustainable development theory and competitive advantage theory).The third part is the selection process of the indicator system.Through reading a large number of literature,the statistics of index citation frequency and expert guidance,the existing indicator system with the most high-frequency indicators is finally selected for direct reference.The fourth part is the evaluation of the tourism competitiveness of each city.SPSS17.0 software and excel are used to process and calculate data to obtain the overall tourism competitiveness of each city and the competitiveness of each principal component.Finally,the scores and rankings of the tourism competitiveness of 11 provincial capitals and 1 municipality directly under the central government in western China from 2002 to 2016 are calculated.Fifth part of the tourism competitiveness of provincial capital cities and municipalities directly under the central government in westernareas of space-time evolution analysis,have got the tourism competitiveness score and ranking for the analysis of the two dimensions of time and space,main use Excle time dimension data integration,draw diagrams,city tourism competitiveness dynamic variation character of time dimension;In terms of spatial dimension,Arc GIS10.2 software is mainly used to obtain the change feature map of spatial level evolution and distribution of urban tourism competitiveness.Finally,Suggestions are proposed based on the evolution feature.The sixth part is the conclusion,deficiency and prospect.The results show that,on the whole,the tourism competitiveness of cities in western China is relatively low,and the development of the tourism level of cities is extremely unbalanced.From 2002 to 2016,the overall tourism competitiveness of western provincial capitals and most cities in Chongqing did not change much.Among them,Chongqing,Chengdu and Xi'an always occupy the top three;Yinchuan,Lanzhou,Xining and Lhasa always occupy the bottom four,presenting an overall pattern of high in the south and low in the north.The scores of each principal component were observed respectively,and it was found that the scores of most cities in each component were negative,showing an obvious“low level” phenomenon.Among the main components,the economic strength and tourism performance of the first principal component have the largest impact on the overall competitiveness of urban tourism,which directly determines its score level.The second and third principal components of urban economic structure and urban tourism comfort have little impact on the overall tourism competitiveness.The fourth and fifth main components are urban tourism ecological environment,which has the least impact on the overall competitiveness of tourism and is basically negative.Seen from space level evolution characteristics,the number of the fourth level strong city of tourism competitiveness level is smaller from 2002 to 2016 in some capital cities in western China and Chongqing city,and the number of cities in the first level and second level is larger,that is the weak and the weaker cities.To conclude,the tourism competitiveness level in the western region as a whole city tourism competitiveness level is still weak.In view of this,it put forward the balanced tourism development in southwest and northwest area city;To strengthen the overall economic strength of the city and increase investment in the tourism market,to optimize tourism resources and increasing tourism attraction,to improve urban infrastructure and urban comfort and to protect the natural environment,sustainabledevelopment and other policies are recommended.
