| Since the report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly stated the goal of high-quality development,my country’s economy has gradually entered the stage of high-quality development.The western region of my country is rich in resources and has a vast territory,but its economic development is relatively lagging due to its sparse population and insufficient accumulation.Although some improvements have been made under the promotion of the Western Development Strategy,there are still many problems in the current overall economic development.In order to give full play to the advantages of the western region in terms of geographical location,labor cost,agricultural and animal husbandry products,and mineral resources,through the evaluation and analysis of the high-quality economic development level of the western region,we can accurately grasp the overall situation of current development and existing problems.At the same time,analyzing the temporal and spatial evolution of the high-quality economic development of the western provinces is of great significance for promoting the high-quality economic development of the western region.By sorting out relevant research literature at home and abroad,and based on the concept of high-quality economic development,five dimensions of "innovation,coordination,green,openness,and sharing" are selected,and a total of 30 indicators are used to construct an evaluation index system for high-quality economic development in the western region;Taking 2006-2020 as the research period,the improved entropy method is used to measure the subdivision index and comprehensive index of high-quality economic development;Through comparative analysis and cluster analysis,comprehensively evaluate the high-quality economic development level of the western region;This paper analyzes the evolution law of high-quality economic development in the western region from the perspectives of time and space.The study found that,on the whole,there is a gap in the overall level of high-quality economic development in different provinces;From the perspective of the five subdivision dimensions,the provinces have large gaps in the two dimensions of innovation and open development,but smaller gaps in the three dimensions of green,shared and coordinated development.The high-quality economic development of the western provinces can be clustered into three types: Sichuan belongs to the high-level development area,Chongqing,Shaanxi and Guangxi belong to the medium-level development area,and the remaining seven provinces belong to the low-level development area.In terms of time series evolution,the high-quality economic development in the western region has achieved remarkable results;the relative development speed of each province tends to be flat,and there is a big difference in the relative development speed;the coefficient of variation of the development level of each province shows an expanding trend.In terms of spatial evolution,provinces have achieved a transition from a lower level to a higher level,and show a certain degree of aggregation in space,with a positive spatial autocorrelation relationship between them,showing positive aggregation characteristics.On the basis of the above analysis,this paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to promote the high-quality economic development of the western region from five aspects: Cultivate high-tech industries,protect intellectual property rights,and improve the level of innovation;Comply with the laws of industrial development,promote the process of urbanization,and enhance the coordination of development;Establish the concept of environmental protection,advocate green and low-carbon development,and maintain the sustainability of growth;Seize development opportunities,participate in global competition,and build a new pattern of opening up;Improve the social security system,create employment opportunities,and improve people’s well-being. |
