Business Performance Evaluation Of Companies In Electric Power Industry Based On Super-efficiency DEA Model

Business performance of enterprise is the ultimate management result of managers within a certain period of time,which is an important reference for many stakeholders to make economic decisions.Electric power industry is a basic industry for national economic development,whose business performance is not only related to the future development of related companies and the realization of strategic objectives,but also closely connected with the operating efficiency of state-owned assets and the stability of social economic development.Since 2016,the country has gradually promoting Supply-side Structural Reform.The electric power industry is facing with such important tasks as optimizing energy structure and improving resource utilization efficiency.Opportunities and challenges in the new situation have proposed high demand of business performance evaluation of electric power industry.Based on the development and research status of business performance evaluation in electric power industry,this paper selects data envelopment analysis as the main method.Take the particularity of production and operation activities in electric power industry,this article analyzed external and internal factors which affect enterprise business performance,and design an index system suitable for business performance evaluation after correlation analysis.In this research,we choose 61 electric power listed companies,calculate their business performance with the index value from 2012 to 2016,and make descriptive statistical analysis,efficiency analysis,projection analysis,sensitivity analysis,and trend analysis on the basis of the results.The final results can not only help enterprises to clear their own position in electric power industry,but also provide specific direction and technical path for efficiency improvement.The conclusion shows that the overall business performance of electric power industry is well,technical efficiency and scale efficiency are at a medium level,and the pure technical efficiency is high.However,the overall mix efficiency performs poor,especially for invalidDecision Making Units.How to optimize some input factors is the main direction in the future.The sensitivity coefficients of three indexes including net fixed assets,income tax expenses,and net cash flow from operating activities are relatively high,which means the three indexes are sensitive to the company's business performance.According to the projection analysis and trend analysis results of AnHui Energy Company Limited,the overall business performance in 2016 was poor,and all input elements except for net fixed assets were redundant.The overall business performance trend showed from decline to a small fluctuation from 2012-2015,and a sharp drop in 2016.
