Analysis Of The Relationship Between Infrastructure Investment And Urbanization In China

As the carrier of urbanization development,infrastructure is the material guarantee for urban to paly the agglomeration effects and central role.Infrastructure investment should serve the development of urbanization.However,driven by the pursuit of economic growth,it is easy to over-emphasize the growth of economic indicators while neglecting the development of urbanization.With the high level of regional infrastructure investment and economic development,the development of urbanization is lagging behind.The balance between economic growth and urbanization has become an important part of the issue of infrastructure investment in the context of new urbanization.Studying the relationship between infrastructure investment and urbanization development will help clarify the direction and intensity of infrastructure investment,formulate and adjust strategies for promoting urbanization development,and combine infrastructure investment with the strategic objectives of urbanization development.The study adopts the concept of generalized infrastructure investment and divides it into economic infrastructure investment and social infrastructure investment,and conducts specific analysis on these two types of infrastructure investment.The evaluation index system for urbanization development is constructed from the four dimensions of urban population,economic development,public services and infrastructure.The entropy method was used to measure the urbanization development level index of 30 provinces,municipalities and autonomous regions(not including Hong Kong,Macao,Taiwan and Tibet)from 2003 to 2016 in China.Under the mechanism of interaction between infrastructure investment and urbanization,Firstly,analyze the impact of infrastructure investment on the development of urbanization,From the perspective of infrastructure investment stocks,an ordinary panel regression model was established to study the impact of infrastructure investment on urbanization development in terms of investment scale and structure.On this basis,the influence of spatial correlation is introduced and a spatial panel regression model(SDM)is established to observe the spatial spillover effect of infrastructure investment on urbanization development.Secondily,analyze the feedback effect of urbanization development on infrastructure investment.From the perspective of infrastructure investment flow,Establish a dynamic panel regression model and use systematic GMM estimation methods to analyze the impact of urbanization development on infrastructure investment,and analyze the differences between the two.The study comes to the following conclusions.Firstly,Infrastructure investment has a significant positive effect on the development of urbanization,and increase the share of the social infrastructure investment can strengthen this promotion effect.Secondly,Infrastructure investment has a positive spillover effect on the development of urbanization,and the development of the urbanization will be affected by infrastructure investment in the neighboring areas.Thirdly,the feedback of urbanization on economic infrastructure investment is significant,and there is a non-linear relationship between the two,while the feedback of urbanization on social infrastructure investment is not significant.Finally,According to the conclusions above,the paper put forward the corresponding suggestions.
