Transportation infrastructure is the basis and supporting condition for the economic development of a country or a region. The degree of construction of transportation infrastructure is inextricably linked with economic development. In recent years,as China's economy continues to accelerate development, local governments' investment in transportation infrastructure has continued increase.Henan Province is located in the Central Plains, and its superior geographical environment makes it a transportation hub in China. The transportation industry is also a very important industry in Henan Province. From 1999 to 2016,the transportation infrastructure investment in Henan Province was RMB 8.38 billion.Increased to 193.781 billion yuan, led by infrastructure investment,Henan Province has achieved rapid development of railway, highway, aviation and water transport infrastructure. Therefore,it is very necessary to analyze the impact of transport infrastructure on economic development in this context. This dissertation mainly studies the impact of transport infrastructure in Henan Province on economic development and its spillover effect.First, the relevant research results and theories that have influenced the economic development of transport infrastructure have been combed. These are the theoretical foundations for this study.Secondly, based on the analysis of the status quo, this paper uses the panel co-integration model to study the impact of transportation infrastructure on economic development in Henan Province and finds that there is a positive relationship between the two,and there is a long-term equilibrium and short-term adjustments.speed.Thirdly,this paper further introduces the space panel model to study the spatial spillover effect of transportation infrastructure on economic development, and finds that there is a positive spillover effect of transportation infrastructure, that is,the improvement of local transportation infrastructure will drive the development of other regional economies; The study also found that the indirect spillover effect of the local transport infrastructure is stronger than the direct spillover effect, indicating that thetransport infrastructure will have a positive impact on the foreign economy on the basis of improving local transportation and enhancing local economic cohesion. In this chapter, the paper compares the results of the two models used in the article and finds that the output elasticity of transportation infrastructure in Henan Province is more accurate based on the space panel model.Specifically, the investment elasticity of transportation infrastructure is from 0.0164 to 0.0318.Between the milestones of highway operations, the output elasticity is between 0.0318 and 0.0716,and the output elasticity based on the panel cointegration model is 0.135 and 1.086 respectively. This shows that consideration of space factors can help us to correctly grasp the output of transportation infrastructure.elasticity.Finally,on the basis of drawing relevant conclusions, this paper puts forward relevant recommendations, including increasing investment in transportation infrastructure, adjusting the direction of transportation infrastructure, establishing a government coordination and cooperation platform, and using transportation infrastructure to promote regional economic integration. And widen the financing channels for transportation infrastructure.
