Risk Management Case Study For IFM Project Of NV Pharmaceutical Company

Since entering the 21 st century,the division in various industries has become more and more specific.With the development of various industries,the concept of "professional people doing professional things" is becoming more and more popular.For companies,it is more and more common to focus on the main business,and to outsource non-core business services.IFM(integrated facility management)is a type of business process outsourcing(BPO).Its has wide scope,and the scope varies in different companies.The scope is usually consists of soft services and hard services.Soft services include catering,retail,cleaning,pest control,mail service,security,landscaping,etc.Hard services include maintenance & repair,facility management,energy efficiency improvement,space planning,asset management,project execution,etc.In recent years,the pharmaceutical industry also began to attempt to outsourcing the facility management.Due to the limitations of regulations,such as GMP(Good Manufacturing Practice)requiring personnel to operate in a controlled environment,the pharmaceutical industry is also relatively conservative,and at present the outsourcing is not popular in the GMP environment.So the IFM development is slower and narrower than in other industries.As of 2010,the majority of pharmaceutical companies in China(both domestic and MNC)were outsourced only for soft services(catering,security,cleaning,etc.),with few involving hard services.Many foreign professionals have done research on facility management outsourcing,but there are few cases of facility outsourcing in pharmaceutical industry,especially in China.In view of the particularity of facility management and project management of pharmaceutical companies,this paper puts forward its own viewpoint and implementation plan.The main significance of which is as follows:Through the study of the IFM case of NV Company and the theory of service outsourcing,project management and risk management,this paper identifies the risk points in the process of IFM implementation.Meanwhile,combined with the analysis of the issues n the process of IFM implementation of NV Company,a solution is put forward.At the same time,this paper analyzes the differences of facility outsourcing management in pharmaceutical industry,in order to provide a reference for further research,so as to reduce the management cost of the industry and promote the development of the industry.In addition,according to the integration of the business process of facility outsourcing and the particularity of pharmaceutical industry,the supplier who provides IFM services provides suggestions for optimizing their business processes.
