A Study On Rice Machine-planted Adoption Behavior Of Farmers

Agricultural mechanization is the inevitable course of agricultural modernization.Rice is one the most important grain crops in China.Mechanization of rice production is quite Significant,in which the rice machine-planted is the weak point inside the whole section.Jiangsu province is the main area of rice producing in our country.Its development level of rice machine-planted ranks among the top in the whole country,as it established the route of developing rice machine-planting transplanted.Previous researches mostly concentrate on the benefit of rice machine-planted or restrictive factors in the process of rice machine-planted extension.That means quantitative study and empirical Study on Farmers are not enough to some extent.Therefore,taking the view of farmers to discuss the influence factor of their choice with rice machine-planted and so digging out the obstacle of rice machine-planted extension in Jiangsu is particularly necessary.This study takes 311 rice farmers for research objects in Dongtai,Haian and Liyang which is respectively located in northern,middle and southern Jiangsu province.Use descriptive statistical method to analyze the sample farmers' adoption condition of rice machine-planted and their cognition about the rice machine-planted and farm machinery purchase subsidy.Besides,use binary logistic model to find the factors that influence farmers' rice machine-planting adoption.The results are as follows.(1)sample farmers mostly use artificial sowing,machine-planting transplanted and artificial transplanting to plant rice.(2)Farmers choose rice machine-planted,mainly because its high efficiency as well as high and stable output of rice.Agricultural machinery socialization service is the key way of rice machine-planted operation.Well,farmers' satisfaction on it needs to upgrade.Development of agricultural machinery socialization service in Dongtai is not good as Haian and Liyang.(3)Farmers do not choose rice machine-planted,mainly because small planting scale,high cost of rice machine-planted and habituation.Farmers in Haian and Liyang behave with more positive attitude towards rice machine-planted and its scientific nature.(4)Farmers choose artificial sowing mainly because its simplification and labor saved.Those farmers lack of awareness towards the disadvantages of artificial sowing,especially farmers in Dongtai.(5)Most of farmers knew the government promote rice machine-planted and they think their locality is suitable for rice machine-planted.Farmers in Haian and Liyang have a more positive attitude towards the extension of rice machine-planted.Those who once have bought the rice planting machinery think poorly of farm machinery purchase subsidy by and large.(6)It turns out that the factors influence farmers' rice machine-planted adoption behavior include age,rice planting area,total household income and region dummy variable by using binary logistic model.Rice planting area and region dummy variable have significant effect on farmers' behavior.Based on the study results,fellow steps should be taken to promote the development of rice machine-planted in Jiangsu province.Improve agricultural machinery socialization service system,Wide the service range,lower the price,raise the quality and standard.Improve farmland infrastructure construction;ameliorate the operation environment of rice planting machinery.Strengthen the publicity,Change farmers' awareness,and prevent blind expansion of artificial sowing.Enhance management and supervision of farm machinery purchase subsidy.Preferential policies should be offered to weak areas.
