Since the 21st century, with the development of China`s blue land and marine economy, involuntary migration in island areas has been increasing. In the involuntary migration, whether the migrant farmers can withdraw from the homestead of the existing place and obtain proper resettlement in the new place will directly affect the effect of migration. However, the existing research mainly focuses on the willingness of farmers to relocate, and they are not paying enough attention to the above two aspects. Therefore,it is of great significance to study farmers' willingness of homestead withdrawal and preference of resettlement schemes for local governments formulating scientific and reasonable involuntary migration policies.Based on the data of 224 questionnaires collected from island villages in Yuhuan City,Zhejiang Province, this paper firstly analyzes the differences in individual characteristics, family characteristics, land use and policy cognition of farmers.Secondly, through the binary logistic model, this paper studies famers'willingness to relocate and the willingness to withdraw from the homestead, and analyze the reasons for the difference in willingness. On this basis, combined with the survey of theminimum expectations of farmers' resettlement standards, the choice experiment method was used to analyze the farmers' preference for resettlement schemes and their influencing factors. The results show that:(1)Farmers have a strong willingness to relocate, which is affected by age, nature of work, quantity of labor force, housing age, whether to buy commercial housing, impact of psychological pressure, and cogjnition of the significance of island relocation,(2)Farmers have a relatively strong willingness to withdraw from the homestead, which is affected by age, quantity of labor force, proportion of non-agricultural income, impact of psychological pressure, and evaluation of resettlement schemes.(3)There is a difference between the willingness of farmers to relocate and the willingness to withdraw from the homestead.Among the farmers who are unwilling to withdraw from the homestead, the older the households, the fewer the number of family laborers, the greater the psychological pressure, and the younger the island house age,the less likely they are to relocate.(4)The minimum expected mean value of the resettlement transition fees is RMB 9200/person,and the minimum expected mean value for resettlement area is 67.68m2/person.(5)The proportion of farmers who choose to participate in resettlement is very high, and their willingness to choose is affected by the resettlement form, resettlement area standard, social security support and house delivery time. Therefore,in promoting involuntary migration in island areas, the government should clarify and refine the relocation policy and strengthen the planning and guidance of the relocation project;strengthen the propaganda of policies and improve the management capacity of the village-level organizations. At the same time, the government should establish a diversified resettlement scheme to guide farmers to adapt to the relocation life;guide the orderly withdrawal of homestead and promote further development and utilization of the island.
