The Impact Of Internal Innovation Environment On Innovation Performance In Knowledge-Intensive Enterprises

In the current fierce competitive environment,innovation has become the main means for enterprises to improve their core competitiveness.The biggest risk is making no innovation.In the era of knowledge economy,knowledge becomes the basis of innovation,and knowledge-intensive enterprises become the backbone of social innovation.Innovation is the result of the interaction between human and environment.Although knowledge is created by individuals,enterprise innovation environment also plays an important role,and provides creative employees with a supportive environment for their work and social interaction,which make individual knowledge become organizational knowledge.Therefore,the enterprise's innovation environment will affect he enterprise's innovation performance through the enterprise's knowledge management activities.Thus the improvement of enterprise innovation performance should not only focus on the innovation ability of employees,but also create a strong innovation environment to stimulate the creativity of employees.However,current research has found that there are many and scattered environmental variables influencing innovation,and the contribution of each environmental variable to innovation performance is not clear.So in this paper,on the basis of predecessors' research,the innovation of the enterprise internal environment is divided into four dimensions,that is,physical innovation environment,cultural environment,institutional innovation environment and IT innovation environment.In addition,according to the degree of innovation,innovation can be divided into radical innovation and incremental innovation.The two kinds of innovation,which pursuit different goals,have different requirements on the internal environment of the organization.Therefore,this paper constructs the theoretical model of the influence of the innovation environment on innovation performance_Based on the mature measurements,this paper designs a questionnaire,and conduct a survey of knowledge-intensive enterprises.The industries of enterprises surveyed lie in IT,finance,education,professional consultation or service.We totally obtained 150 valid questionnaires in this survey.By factor analysis and regression analysis,we deeply studied the influence degree of each innovation environment factor on the performance of Ambidextrous innovation.The results show that cultural innovation environment,institutional innovation environment,information technology innovation environment have significant positive impacts on rapid innovation performance;institutional innovation environment,information technology innovation have significant positive impacts on incremental innovation performance.Of the four types of environments,institutional innovation environment has the biggest impact on innovation performance,and physical innovation environment has the smallest impact on innovation performance.The impact of each innovation environment is different on two types of innovation performance.The research results enrich the theoretical research of innovation environment and can help enterprises better understand and use innovation environment transformation to improve innovation performance.
