An Empirical Analysis Of The Influencing Factors Of Tourism Economy In The Counties In Poor Mountainous Areas

The counties in impoverished mountainous area mostly have unique natural resources and tourism in such counties is often grown as pillar industry.With the increase of personal income,traveling around for relaxation has become an optimal choice for a growing number of Chinese.Hence,an in-depth study on how to tap the abundant tourism resources effectively in those counties to guarantee a balanced development is of great theoretical and practical significance.The counties in impoverished mountainous area often boast rich tourism resources with beautiful natural environment.For the past few years,tourism industry of such counties has progressed a lot and their overall economic growth increasingly depends on the very sector.However,whether the ever-developing tourism economy in such countries can realize sustainability remains to be an issue,for their tourism industry developed late and was exploited improperly.Hence,taking Baokang county of Hubei province as an example,this paper,by making deep analysis about the factors affecting the development of Baokang's tourism economy,aims at exploring the problems of impoverished mountainous areas and offering strategic advice to promote the development of tourism in such areas,help them overcome poverty and provide reference for the realization of sustainability.This paper mainly consists of six chapters.Chapter one is about the introduction of background and significance of the research,literature review on this research at home and abroad,research content and methods;chapter two includes the definition of such concepts as impoverished mountainous county tourism,county economy,county tourism economy and also describes the theoretical basis of the study;chapter three presents the statue quo and existing problems of China's county tourism in impoverished areas;chapter four mainly analyzes the advantages of Baokang's tourism resources and realities of its tourism economy on the basis of field research results;In chapter five,an influence factor evaluation system on Baokang's tourism economy is established and the Grey Relation Analysis(GRA)Model is applied to analyze such relative factors as human resources,material basis,information and bank financing as well as macroeconomic policy;Based on the above analysis results,chapter six gives suggestions to promote the growth of tourism economy in impoverished mountainous counties from the following five aspects--talents cultivation,rational resource exploitation under the principle of sustainable development,reinforcement of information tourism and financial service,macro-control of local tourism industry and tourism characteristics building.
