Research On The Position And Industrial Competitiveness Of Eastern Industry Zone

China's overseas economic and trade cooperation zone(COCZ)is a new form of Chinese overseas investment.It is a platform for enterprises to go global and achieve industrial agglomeration under the background of the "Belt and Road".Since its establishment in 2006,the construction and development of COCZ have made great progress,the distribution of countries and regions has expanded,and the types of investment industries have also diversified.As the foothold for China to promote the "Belt and Road" to the west,Africa is a region where Chinese enterprises are concentrated in investment.Ethiopia,which located in northeastern Africa,is the pioneering country for China-Africa capacity cooperation.In 2017,the relationship between China and Ethiopia has risen to a national strategic relationship.Eastern Industry Zone is the first COCZ invested and constructed in Ethiopia.It was established in 2008,and was confirmed as a national-level COCZ by the Ministry of Commerce in 2015.It is also one of the seven major African parks.This article takes the trade and investment status of China and Ethiopia as a macro background.Firstly,it introduces the local economic situation of Ethiopia.Through the trade and investment research between China and Ethiopia,it is found that the trade volume between China and Ethiopia has increased in recent years,and the number of investment projects in China for Ethiopia has increased and the types have become more diversified.China is more concerned about trade with each other than Ethiopia,and China's investment in Ethiopia can also drive local economic development.Secondly,taking the Eastern Industry Zone as an example,through the overview of the planning,investment advantages,investment enterprises and industry classification of the zone,using the center of gravity and the industrial competitiveness index to further study the location and industry type of the Eastern Industry Zone.Finally,it summarizes the challenges of the construction and development of the Eastern Industry Zone from a macro perspective,and provides advice for the establishment of COCZ in the future.Based on the full-text research,taking the Eastern Industry Zone as an example,the following experience is proposed for the COCZ:Firstly,increase state-owned assets and enhance the status of private enterprises;Secondly,increase the intensity of publicity and change the local development concept;Thirdly,consolidate competitive industries and strengthen industries with weak competitiveness;Fourthly,assume social responsibility and establish good relations with the local governments of the host countries;Fifthly,rationally plan the location layout and make full use of local advantages.
