As the scale and the degree of rural labor outflow has increased,it has brought negative effects to rural areas in different degree and forms. In particular the land utilization, the large outflow of rural labor has caused a shortage of agricultural labor, which has made the land not fully utilized or even abandoned. After conducting field research on the tea origins of Huangshan Maofeng in Huizhou District,Taiping Monkey in Huangshan District,Tuen Mun Black Tea in Qimen County and Lu'an Melon in Jinzhai County of Lu'an City,we find that there is a large amount of labor outflow in the main producing areas. When the main labor force of the households flows out,the left-behind personnel are insufficient to support the production of tea, which will inevitably lead to the abandonment of the tea garden. This is consistent with our investigation result based on the fact of a certain scale of tea garden abandonment in the four tea producing areas. This paper explores the impact of agricultural labor outflow on tea garden abandonment. The research in this paper includes the following aspects:(1)Based on the theory of population mobility, combined with the cost-benefit theory, the influence of relevant factors of labor outflow on the abandonment behavior of tea gardens is discussed from the perspective of farmers' families.(2)Analyzing the status quo and flow characteristics of the overall rural labor force in Anhui Province.(3)Using the survey data on the basis of practical investigation of farmers in Huizhou District,Huangshan District,Qimen County and Jinzhai County of Lu'an City from 2017 to 2018,and analyzing the analysis to further analyze the impact of labor outflow to the tea garden. The number of labor outflows is selected as the independent variable, and some factors affecting the tea garden abandonment behavior are selected as explanatory variables. The multiple linear regression model is used to analyze the specific effects of these factors on tea garden abandonment. The regression results show that the impact of rural labor outflow and the number of agricultural laborers on tea garden abandonment behavior is very significant. The impact of rural labor outflow on tea garden abandonment is positive, which means the larger the scale of labor outflow, the higher the rate of tea garden abandonment. The impact of the agricultural workforce on the abandonment of tea gardens is the opposite, the more the number of the agricultural laborers, the lower the rate of tea garden abandonment.
