Research On The Impact Of Eu Intellectual Property Protection On China's OFDI Reverse Technology Spillover

Since the implementation of the "going out" strategy,China's outward direct investment has developed rapidly.The EU is the second largest investment area in China and the largest source of technology import in China.The EU countries are advanced in science and technology as a whole and have been in the forefront of the world in intellectual property protection.Higher level of intellectual property protection will have a huge impact on Reverse Technology Spillover of China's outward FDI.This paper explores the impact of EU intellectual property protection level on China's OFDI reverse technology spillover by combining theoretical analysis with empirical analysis.Firstly,this paper analyses the current situation and characteristics of China's investment in EU,and finds that China invests more in countries and areas with high level of intellectual property protection and developed science and technology.Secondly,it analyses the impact of host country's intellectual property protection level on China's OFDI reverse technology spillover effect and its mechanism.Finally,it applies the method of International R&D spillover regression and used the panel data of 21 years of 25 EU countries for empirical analysis to verify the impact of the host country's intellectual property protection level on the reverse technology spillover effect of OFDI in China.Through the above research,this paper draws the following conclusions: Firstly,China's foreign direct investment mainly distributes in countries,industries and enterprises with advanced science and technology and high level of intellectual property protection.Secondly,the higher level of intellectual property protection has a positive effect on the reverse technology spillover of OFDI in China,which is conducive to the technological progress of our country and further promotes the economic transformation of our country.Thirdly,it influences the initial investment mode of Chinese enterprises by influencing location selection,investment field and entry mode,and then promotes the absorption,transmission,digestion and transformation of reverse technology spillover through the transmission at enterprise level,industry level and national level.Suggestions are put forward as follows: to optimize the investment structure,improve the way of investment,improve the quality of investment,and respond positively and effectively.
