| Innovation-driven is the orientation of high-quality economic development in China,and the promotion of enterprise technological innovation is the key to foster new momentum for development.Guided by the goal of economic development,this paper defines the quality of economic development as the product of increasing the efficiency of growth,improving the environmental cost and enhancing the sharing of achievements.And theoretically explains the logical mechanism of technological innovation affecting economic development quality from the perspective of consumption demand.Then this paper calculates the economic development quality index of 283 above prefecture level cities in China from 2007 to 2016 by using the principal component analysis method,and systematically examines the impact of enterprise technological innovation on the quality of economic development.The study found that: Firstly,the overall growth rate of economic development quality in China has shown an inverted U-shaped trend in recent years.The areas with high urban economic development quality index are mainly concentrated in the eastern region,while the areas with low economic development quality index are mainly concentrated in the central and Western regions,and the eastern region has the most significant difference in the quality of economic development.Secondly,from the overall point of view of the quality of economic development,technological innovation of enterprise has a significant positive incentive to the quality of economic development,whether in the direction of input or output.From the perspective of the quality of economic development,the input of technological innovation has a positive role in promoting the achievement sharing index,while the output of technological innovation has a significant role in promoting the environmental cost and achievement sharing.Thirdly,under the conditions of different industrial structure and marketization,technological innovation input of enterprise has a more significant impact on the quality of economic development than technological innovation output of enterprise.And technological innovation input of enterprise doesn’t have a significant improvement effect on the quality of economic development in areas with lower proportion of secondary industry to tertiaryindustry and with lower marketization.Fourthly,further mechanism analysis shows that consumption demand is an intermediary variable of technological innovation affecting the quality of economic development.Consumption demand can respectively explain 17.03% and10.56% of the total effect of technological innovation input and output on the quality of economic development.Therefore,this paper confirms the positive effect of technological innovation at the enterprise level on promoting the quality of economic development,which provides micro-experience reference for innovation-driven high-quality economic development in China.Finally,this thesis provides policy inspiration for China to achieve high-quality economic development. |
