Eliminating poverty and improving people's livelihood are the key issues for China's social progress. As the main battlefield of poverty alleviation in China, ethnic minority areas have prominent poverty problems, deep poverty level and great difficulty in governance. At the same time, the development of tourism in ethnic minority areas has unique resource advantages, and poverty alleviation through tourism in ethnic minority areas has become an important breakthrough to solve the problem of poverty.Community residents' participation,as a major influencing factor in poverty alleviation and development,is the key to the smooth development of poverty alleviation and development.Under the guidance of the precise poverty alleviation policy, this study has targeted the study to the development of tourism poverty alleviation in the micro-units of ethnic minority communities, ethnic villages.Social capital,as a “missing chain” in development,is of great significance in the study of poverty.Because social capital can influence behavioral awareness and promote collective action, there is a close relationship between social capital and community research. From the theoretical perspective of social capital, this paper studies the tourism participation of minority communities, constructs the social network's social network, trust, normative dimension on the degree of tourism participation, and introduces two mediators: participation consciousness and participation ability.Through the comparison of case studies located in different tourism development life cycles, this paper explores the participation of poverty-stricken tourism in minority villages and the internal mechanism of social capital.Through factor analysis, structural equation modeling and regression analysis, the following conclusions are obtained:(1)Social capital is an important factor affecting the participation of tourism poverty alleviation.Social networks can have a direct impact on tourism poverty alleviation participation, while community trust and community norms It is necessary to have an indirect impact on the degree of participation in tourism poverty alleviation through intermediary variables such as participation ability and participation awareness;(2)the influence of participation ability on participation level is greater than the participation consciousness' s influence on tourism poverty alleviation participation, and low participation ability becomes restricted residents' participation in tourism.Key factors;(3)Tourism development and poverty alleviation and development have brought new types of social capital to closed ethnic minority villages. These social capitals also act on tourism participation and form a virtuous circle;(4)traditional social capital sometimes generates many Unfair phenomena, which reduce trust and influence the enthusiasm of participating in capacity building. In summary, the promotion and optimization of social capital participation in tourism poverty alleviation can be carried out in the following aspects:(1)Cultivate social capital that is compatible with economic and social development, actively cultivate “leapfrogging” social capital, extend social networks, and open communication channels to enhance Social trust, innovative social governance system, activation of minority autonomous organizations;(2)Construction of a long-term mechanism for accurate poverty alleviation, raising the awareness of citizens and self-reliance on poverty in villages, and strengthening the construction and training of tourism participation capabilities.(3)Establish a tourism poverty alleviation mechanism in which multi-subjects participate in synergy, and form a situation in which each entity cooperates, supervises, and participates.(4)Strengthen the leading role of the core areas of ethnic villages in the marginal areas.
