Research On Non-use Value Evaluation Of Tourism Resources In Zhoushan Islands Based On CVM

In recent years,tourism has developed rapidly.The islands with rich tourist resources provide a place to relax.The land area of the island is small and the ecosystem is fragile.The rapid development of tourism will have a certain impact on tourism resources.The tourism resources of the archipelago are vulnerable to human activities and extreme weather such as typhoons.In order to protect the tourism resources of the archipelago,the economic value of tourism resources needs to be assessed.Non-use value is an important part of the economic value of tourism resources.As public goods,the archipelago tourism resources lack a corresponding trading market to evaluate its value.The contingent valuation method(CVM)is a stated preferences method that widely used for assessing the economic value of environmental goods.CVM survey was conducted in Zhoushan Islands.Two questionnaires on the non-use value of the beach tourism resources and the non-use value of the marine cultural tourism resources were designed.Face-to-face random interviews to residents and tourists were conducted to investigate the WTP to the non-use value of the beach tourism resources and marine cultural tourism resources of the Zhoushan Islands.The OLS and IR models were used to conduct econometric analysis of the questionnaire datas,and the non-use values of beach tourism resources and marine cultural tourism resources were calculated.The results showed that:for the protection of the non-use value of beach tourism resources in Zhoushan Islands,the average WTP of residents was 258.79 yuan/person,and the average WTP of tourists was 313.19 yuan/person;for the protection of non-use value of the marine cultural tourism resources in Zhoushan Islands,the average WTP of residents was 335.75yuan/person,and the average WTP of tourists was 353.63 yuan/person;The non-use value of the beach tourism resources of Zhoushan Islands was 4327.14×10~6 yuan/a;the non-use value marine cultural of Zhoushan Islands tourism resources was 5049.95×10~6yuan/a.According to the research results,residents and tourists in the Zhoushan Islands had a strong willingness to pay for the protection of the non-use value of beach and marine cultural tourism resources.The beaches and marine cultural tourism resources had great non-use values.When formulating policies for the protection of tourism resources,policy makers should incorporate non-use values into the benefit-cost analysis to formulate reasonable and effective policies to protect tourism resources and promote the sustainable development of tourism.
