With the rapid development of globalization and urbanization,many urban traditional districts have become victims of large-scale urban renewal and new town construction.Leisure consumption space based on commerce and other services has springing up and showing a "no locality" tragedy.In the case of urban memory being impacted and eroded by the global consumer culture,to explore the construction and local formation mechanism of the leisure consumption space of urban traditional districts,to achieve the integration of urban traditional space and modern consumption culture,is of great significance for breaking the dilemma of traditional districts' protection and development and promoting the coordination and unification of regional cultural heritage and leisure development.This study applies micro scale spatial analysis method to the study of the leisure consumption space of urban traditional districts,and constructs the spatial production theory framework of leisure consumption space of urban traditional districts based on the theory of spatial production.Using exploratory factor analysis of SPSS,structural equation modeling,depth interviews and taking Nanjing 1912 pub street as a case to the empirical research,analysis the construction process of leisure consumption space of urban traditional districts,and combined with local forming theory,discusses the local formation mechanism of leisure consumption space of Nanjing 1912 pub street,get the following conclusion:(1)The space production process shows the top-down control and disciplining of the activists come from government,developer and operator and the bottom-up internalization and rebellion of the participants.On the level of spatial practices,the government realizes the guidance and management of the district through urban planning,policy support and infrastructure construction.The developer and operator realize the control of the district by setting the space theme,regulating the merchant and the participants.The participants construct the activity space through time consumption,tourism derivation,traditional consumption,business meetings and attraction.On the level of representational space,architectural landscape,text and images,leisure activities and theme events are used to symbolize the district.On the level of perceived space,this study builds the Nanjing 1912 pub street representation space theory model,and founds that the bottom attitude,characterization of space perception,local identity three factors to promote the formation of perceived space.Its construction process reflects the internalization and resistance effect of representational space on participants.(2)The formation of placeness of the leisure consumption space in the Nanjing 1912 pub street is established by multiple subjects,and it is presented by three elements:location,place and sense of place.Under the guidance of government policies and urban planning,the integration of modern leisure consumption concept into the historical and cultural accumulation is the local cultural background.The developer and operator popularize the placeness feature by space symbols of block landscape,business operation and interpersonal communication and reinforce it to be a place character.At the same time,such place character can satisfy participants'demand for escaping from daily life and leisure consumption and it is further promoted due to participants' identity with the district.
