Leader's behavior and leadership have always been the focus of research in the field of organizational behavior.However,without followers,leadership cannot be talked about.It is not conducive to the development of leadership if we only focus on the role of leadership and ignores followers and their behavior.As a new type of leadership,transformational leadership is welcomed by subordinates.Its effectiveness depends on whether subordinates actively support their work.At the same time,in the complex working environment,employees may have internal anxiety and uncertainty,which makes it difficult to establish their follow-up behavior.Trust,as a positive subjective psychological cognition,can compensate for employees'anxiety and uncertainty.Through reviewing the previous literature,we find that although transformational leadership theory and follow-up theory are still improving and enriching,there is no research that links transformational leadership,trust and follow-up behaviors,especially the lack of empirical evidence.Following behavior is a key part in the formation of leadership.How to effectively stimulate and promote the follow-up behavior of subordinates has become an important part of further discussion in organizational management practice.According to social exchange theory,when subordinates receive help,support and care from leaders,they will show more trust and follow-up behavior in their daily work,out of the psychology of thanks and feedback.In order to promote the research of follower behavior,expand and supplement leadership,this paper will examine how transformational leadership stimulates follow-up behaviors through trust.Based on the 320 valid data of a large state-owned enterprises in Sichuan Province and the 2017 MBA postgraduate students in the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China,after analyzing and processing the data by SPSS24.0 and Amos 24.0,the following conclusions were drawn:(1)The virtue model,individualized care and charisma of transformational leadership have a significant positive impact on follow-up behavior,while the impact of vision incentive is not significant.(2)The virtue model,individualized care and charisma of transformational leadership have a significant positive impact on trust,but the influence of vision incentive on trust is not significant.(3)Trust plays a complete intermediary role between virtue model,personalized care,charisma and follow-up behavior.This study explores and validates the path and internal mechanism of transformational leadership to follow-up behavior,enriches the relevant research of follow-up theory,and provides corresponding inspiration for management practice.
