Study On The Evolution Of Economic Spatial Structure And It's Contributory Factors In Gansu Province

Economic activities need specific geographical space as a carrier.Clear spatial distribution,interconnection and driving mechanism of economic activities will play a vital role in promoting regional coordinated development.Meanwhile,the development of economic will bring changes to spatial structure,so that the process of development of regional economic is also the process of evolution of regional economic spatial structure." Well govern a county,then the nation would be stable and secure " reflects the importance of county economy to national economy.Gansu is an important transportation hub,cultural highland and open portal of the "the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road ".Therefore,studying on its economic spatial structure has great significance for the reduction of the imbalance of regional development,optimization of the spatial structure of Gansu's economy and giving full play to its role in the "the belt and the road initiative ".Based on this characteristic,this paper takes 87 counties(districts)in Gansu Province(including 17 municipal districts,4 county-level cities,58 counties,7 autonomous counties and Jiayuguan)as research units to analyze the evolution of economic spatial pattern and its internal mechanism in Gansu Province from 2005 to 2015.First of all,after sorting out the relevant theoretical research about the evolution of regional economic spatial structure among the disciplines,including economic geography,spatial economics and regional science,this paper establishes the relevant analysis model.Secondly this paper uses the traditional economic measurement method,exploratory spatial analysis method,spatial statistics method and other research methods to analyze and discuss the evolution of economic spatial structure in Gansu Province and analyze the factors which affects the evolution of spatial structure in Gansu Province qualitatively.Moreover,this paper uses spatial econometric modeling to analyze the evolution and mechanism of the spatial structure of Gansu Province from the perspective of two-dimensional space-time.At last not the least,this paper put forward a proposal which is based on how Gansu to further break through administrative divisions,consider regional linkage and strengthen inter-regional linkages.The study found that:(1)There is a significant positive spatial autocorrelation in the spatial structure of county economy in Gansu Province,which means that Counties(districts)with similar level of economic development are concentrated in space and this is also called spatial agglomeration effect.(2)The spatial structure of county economy in Gansu Province presents a typical spatial "dualistic structure".From the perspective of the evolution of the spatial structure of county economy in Gansu Province,the hot counties(districts)of economic development mainly concentrate in Hexi area and Lanzhou city,which means that the growth pole centered on Jiuquan-Jiayuguan and Lanzhou has been formed.Cold counties(districts)of economic development mainly focus on poverty-stricken counties(districts)and concentrate on Longnan,Linxia and Gannan,which shows that path dependence and club convergence play a dominant role in the economic development of most counties(districts).(3)There is a significant spatial spillover effect in the economic development of different counties(districts)in Gansu Province.Industrialization level,material capital,urbanization level,wealth possession of residents and support level of financial institutions have significant positive effects on the evolution of economic spatial structure in Gansu Province Government support,labor force quantity and social public service level have negative inhibitory effects on the evolution of Gansu's economic spatial structure.Statistical results of communication facilities construction are not significant.
