Negative shock is emerging top topic and causes the extensive concern of scholars at home and abroad in recent years,and the foreign scholars have already confirmed the relationship between negative shock and employee performance,organizational citizenship behavior,job search behavior,and also confirmed the job embeddedness as a moderator to buffer the negative impact on employee behavior.However,there are still lack of qualitative researches on negative shock in the Chinese context,and this paper is to explore the effect of negative shock on psychological contract violation,task performance and job search behavior in the Chinese hotel based on affective events theory,conservation of resource theory and role-stress model.Specifically,this paper mainly includes the following three aspects: First,it reveals the impact of the negative shock on employee's task performance and job search behavior in the Chinese context;Second,it explores the mediating role of psychological contract violation in two paths of negative shock on task performance and job search behavior;Third,it explores the moderating role of job embeddedness in the path of negative shock on psychological contract violation.A total of 512 questionnaires were issued,and 382 valid questionnaires were obtained after eliminating unmatched and invalid questionnaires.This paper has preliminarily verified the correlation among these variables and proved that the scales selected have high reliability and validity by SPSS software,and then use Mplus software to test the hypothesis of the SEM.The findings indicate:(1)negative shock negatively affects employee task performance and positively affects job search behavior;(2)psychological contract violation plays a mediating role in the two paths of negative shock on task performance and job search behavior;(3)job embeddedness positively moderates the impact of negative shock on psychological contract violation.Finally,practical implications,theoretical implications as well as limitations and future research are proposed in combination with the research findings.
