As the foundation for a country's economic development, manufacturing is an important driving force for a country to achieve industrial modernization goals.Chinese manufacturing industry has the world's largest export scale, but under the global value chain labor division system,it has long been in the low-end position. Moreover, the developed countries are reviving the development of the manufacturing industry currently, and the labor advantages of the newly industrialized countries are increasingly apparent, and the traditional extensive development of Chinese manufacturing industry is also unsustainable.Chinese manufacturing industry is in urgent need of transformation and upgrading. As a new form of economic and social development, the integration of the Internet with various traditional industries has greatly promoted the development of traditional industries, and has spawned some new industrial models, created huge economic benefits.Based on this,it is of great significance to study the impact of “Internet plus” on Chinese manufacturing industry.Starts from the transformation that the “Internet plus” brings to traditional manufacturing, and based on the academic theory of economics of information and international labor division, this paper discusses how the “Internet plus” affects the industrial international labor division from three aspects(value chain upgrading effect, industrial chain extension effect and innovation promotion effect),and the differences among the impacts that “Internet plus” brings to sectors of different technology level. After that, based on the GVC_Positon index proposed by Koopman, this paper uses the trade value-added data to measure the status of international labor division of Chinese manufacturing industry and the nine sub-sectors,and compares with other countries. Finally, this paper constructs a panel data model for the domestic manufacturing industry, and “Internet plus” is added as an independent control variable to the measurement model to examine the impact of “Internet plus” and other factors on the status of Chinese manufacturing industry.Through the calculation of the status of international division of labor and the empirical research on its influencing factors, the paper draws the following conclusions: First,Chinese manufacturing industry is in the middle and low-end position of the international division of labor as a whole, and there is a gap between the developed countries. And the position of the low-tech sector is significantly higher than that of the middle and high technical sectors.Second, according to the empirical results, capital,“Internet plus” can promote Chinese manufacturing industry's international labor division status, and the impact on different technology industries has shown differences. In addition, factors such as capital and R&D investment also have a positive impact on the improvement of Chinese manufacturing industry's international labor division status. Finally, based on the results of empirical analysis, this paper proposes countermeasures for the improvement of Chinese manufacturing industry's international division of labor.
