The Choice Of Leading Industry In Fruit Industry

As China has entered the historical period of building a well-off society in an all-round way,the prosperity of farmers has become one of the decisive parts and the development of agriculture with industry is a significant strategy for implementation which is decided by the country.Considering that the fruit industry has become the third largest industry in agriculture after grain and vegetables,its driving force has been fully confirmed and its position in the development of agriculture with industry has become increasingly prominent.There is the world's largest fruit planting area and the highest fresh fruit yield in China,and its scale of import and export has topped the world for a long time,making the selection of major industrial varieties from numerous fruits a subject of practical significance.In this study,the Youxi County,Fujian Province was taken as the regional scope,the kumquat,pomelo and navel orange was regarded as the major research objects and the analytic hierarchy process was applied to analyze the selections of major sectors in the industry.The concrete ideas and results are as follows:Firstly,some problems in the selection of major sectors were acquired,such as unified index system and incomplete data information,through describing and evaluating relevant theories of major sectors.That demonstrating there is a lack of authoritative and consistent theoretical support in selecting major sectors,which needs to be adjusted and improved in accordance with different conditions.Secondly,it was concluded that there was a broad development space in the fruit industry through analyzing the overall situation of the production and area of the fruit industry in Youxi County,Fujian Province and China.Thirdly,the reasons for choosing the analytic hierarchy process were explained.Seven indicators,such as input-output ratio,product added value and market reflection,were selected in the criterion level according to the principles of index construction and the real situations of Youxi County,and hierarchy process model was established on that basis.Fourthly,the empirical analysis was carried out to select major sectors.Through assigning the weight of index with the expert scoring method and listing the importance matrix and checking the consistency,it was calculated that the weight of navel orange was 0.63,much higher than the 0.15 of kumquat and the 0.28 of pomelo.Therefore,navel orange is the major sector of the fruit industry in Youxi County.At last,the policy suggestions for developing the navel orange industry were proposed from four aspects,including production,processing,marketing and integration of three industries,in accordance with the real situations of Youxi County.That not only provides a theoretical basis for formulating long-term development plan of the fruit industry in Youxi County but also serves as the reference for selecting major sectors in other industries.
