Driven by the national macro-control and market operation,China's economy continues to grow and the urbanization rate continues to improve, but the quality of urbanization is not high. That is,with the continuous development of the economy, the absolute income gap between urban and rural areas has gradually widened, resulting in the continuous increase in the number of agricultural migrants, the urbanization rate of the permanent population has increased, while the urbanization rate of the registered population is still low, eventually making the Semi-urbanization rate of the population(the urbanization rate of the permanent population reduces the urbanization rate of the registered population)continue to increase. However, the urbanization of agricultural transfer population is a major political issue affecting the stability of reform and development, social civilization and progress, and is also the key to promoting new urbanization. At present, there are few literature studies on the relationship between urban-rural income gap and population Semi-urbanization rate.Based on this, the paper studies whether the income gap between urban and rural areas has an impact on the population Semi-urbanization rate,so as to formulate targeted improvement measures, narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas, improve the urbanization rate of household registration population, reduce the population Semi-urbanization rate, promote the orderly realization of urbanization of agricultural transfer population, and ultimately achieve people-oriented new urbanization.Among the many factors that cause the population Semi-urbanization rate, this paper focuses on the quantitative study of the urban-rural income gap. With the help of theoretical analysis, this paper puts forward two hypotheses: the influence of urban-rural income gap on population Semi-urbanization rate nationwide and the heterogeneity between regions;the industrial structure, the formation rate of fixed assets, infrastructure and medical resources are selected as control variables, and the basic measurement model is constructed;this paper uses multiple regression analysis to empirically analyze the impact of urban-rural income gap on population Semi-urbanization rate nationwide, and uses comparative analysis to compare the impact of urban-rural income gap on population Semi-urbanization rate between eastern, central and western regions,so as to verify the two hypotheses that have been put forward;the countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas and reduce the population Semi-urbanization rate. The results of the study on the influence of urban-rural income gap on population Semi-urbanization rate show that the mode of influence of urban-rural income gap on population Semi-urbanization rate shows a quadratic inverted "U" pattern in the whole country, and the mode of influence of urban-rural income gap on population Semi-urbanization rate shows heterogeneity among the eastern, central and western regions, followed by quadratic inverted U,linear and quadratic inverted U.
