Consumption,as an important force to promote the economic development of a country or region and an endogenous driving force to stimulate the growth of national GDP,is closely related to China's social and economic development.Consumption structure is one of the main research directions in consumer economics. It reflects the quality and level of consumption of residents.Reform and opening-up have opened a new door for China's economic development.Since then,China's consumption field has undergone tremendous changes. The scale of consumer goods market is expanding constantly. The consumption pattern of society has changed from food and clothing consumption and well-off consumption to conspicuous consumption and quality consumption. The consumption market has been accelerating with an obvious expansion of the total scale. While the state improves the income level of residents, promotes the adjustment of economic structure and promotes consumption growth, the phenomenon of low consumption level and unreasonable consumption structure still exists among rural residents in China. The consumption pattern of "high investment, high production and low consumption" restricts the higher and faster development requirements of our economy and affects the overall and coordinated development of regional economy. The Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward the strategy of rural revitalization. How to optimize the consumption structure of rural residents, improve the quality of life of rural residents, and realize the coordinated development of rural regional economy is a hot topic of current research.Yulin City is located in the Loess Plateau. It is a typical energy-enriched area and the, ecotone between agriculture and animal husbandry. The research on rural residents is different from other western rural areas and eastern coastal areas. It has strong regional uniqueness.Since Yulin City established the national energy and heavy chemical industry base in northern Shaanxi in 1998,the local economy has developed rapidly, and the economic level of some rural areas has also been greatly improved. However, due to the long-term dependence on the development of energy industry, the over-scale exploitation of resources has brought about the deterioration of the ecological environment and the single industrial development, which has led to the phenomenon of"rich areas are not rich in people",so Yulin is studied. The problems in rural areas have important practical significance.Based on this, this paper chooses 12 districts and counties in Yulin City as the research unit.Firstly, using statistical analysis and spatial visualization analysis method, this paper analyses the time series change and spatial differentiation characteristics of rural residents'consumption structure in Yulin City, summarizes the rules and explains the causes.Secondly, drawing on the experience of predecessors, using the correlation model to analyze the interaction mechanism between the consumption structure of rural residents in Yulin and various elements of social and economic development.Thirdly, based on the conclusion of the previous chapter and the theory of consumption function, using the panel data of Yulin City from 2000 to 2015,this paper makes an empirical analysis on the relationship between rural residents'net income and consumption structure, and studies the county differences of rural residents'consumption structure in Yulin City from the aspects of average consumption tendency and basic consumption demand.Based on the above, the conclusions are as follows:(1)From 2000 to 2015,the per capita consumption expenditure of rural residents in Yulin increased year by year, from 1153 yuan in 2000 to 8753 yuan in 2015.Food consumption expenditure accounts for the largest proportion of the eight categories of consumption items, while cultural, educational and entertainment consumption and residential consumption account for an increase year by year.Generally speaking, the order of structure of the eight types of consumption items is:Food>Residence>Culture education and Entertainment>Transportation>Medical treatment>Household Equipment>Clothing>Others. From the perspective of the hierarchical structure of consumption materials, survival consumption shows a downward trend of fluctuation, while the proportion of development consumption rises, there is still a large space for consumption improvement.(2)In the time interval studied in this paper, the Engel coefficient of 12 districts and counties in Yulin City is decreasing year by year. From the spatial distribution, the Engel coefficient of the six counties in North China is decreasing year by year while that of the six counties in South China is decreasing year by year. The Engel coefficient of the six counties in North China is less than that of the six counties in South China, but the Engel coefficient of the six counties in South China is decreasing more than that of the six counties in North China. Before 2010,the proportion of subsistence consumption in the six counties was higher than that in the six counties.Yuyang and Shenmu counties were always in the leading level of the whole city, while Mizhi County in the six counties remained at a low level of about 20%.After 2010,the proportion of development-oriented consumption in the six counties has declined. The main reason is that the proportion of development-oriented consumption has been squeezed by the substantial increase of residential consumption items in survival-oriented consumption. In the same year, the gap in the proportion of development-oriented consumption between Nanliu County and Beiliu County gradually narrowed, showing a steady upward trend.Until 2015,there was no significant spatial difference in the proportion of developmental consumption.(3)The correlation between net income and consumption structure of rural residents in Yulin City is the highest. The difference of income level of rural residents is an important reason for spatial differentiation of consumption structure.Secondly, the consumption structure of rural residents in the six counties is mainly affected by the development of the local secondary industry, while the consumption structure of rural residents in the six counties in the south is more relevant to the local tertiary industry. In addition, urbanization rate is also a key factor affecting the consumption structure of rural residents in six counties of Yulin City.Among the population factors, population size and population structure have a positive impact on the consumption structure of rural residents in the six counties. The main reason is the increase of the working population, and the sufficient human resources are conducive to the obvious improvement of the consumption structure. The consumption structure of rural residents in Nanliu County is negatively correlated with population size and population structure.(4)An Empirical Study on the net income and consumption structure of rural residents in 12 districts and counties of Yulin City shows that the consumption tendency of rural residents in Yulin City is higher in four items of consumption expenditure, such as food, residence, transportation, communication, culture, education and entertainment.Among them, the consumption tendency of food consumption ranks first among all kinds of consumption items all the year round. With the increase of income, rural residents in Yulin City increase consumption expenditure.Food still ranks first. The average propensity to consume residence, transportation, communication, culture, education and entertainment ranks two, three and four. The consumption tendency of these four types of consumption items reflects regional differences in varying degrees. The average propensity to consume clothing, health care, household equipment and other consumer expenditures does not show significant differences in statistical sense, and the reasons for the differences in consumption structure are only due to the differences in basic consumption.
