In recent years,China has made great efforts to develop the chip industry and promote the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry.The number of chip research and development enterprises has grown to the first in the world,and the cost of chip research and development is relatively large,but the quality of chip research and development projects and product quality is still far behind that of the United States and other chip industry powers,so improving the quality management of chip research and development projects is a problem that enterprises urgently need to solve.This paper focuses on the application of project quality management theory in smartphone chip research and development projects.By referring to the related literature of project quality management,PMBOK project quality management conceptual model is combined with the characteristics of smart phone chip research and development projects to form a general project quality management framework in the smart phone chip industry.Select M smartphones chip r&d project as an example,the chip of M company research and development the present situation of the project quality management research,statistical customer feedback problems,at the same time to the project internal testing found that the product defects and the defect of customer feedback data comparison,find out the current M smartphones chip r&d problems of project quality management,using bar charts,fishbone diagram analysis tools such as,dig deeper into the reasons of these problems.Then come out the solution and the effect is verified in the new project.Conclusion:to improve the quality management of smart phone chip research and development project must rely on the enterprise's quality management system,project information into the means,in the whole life cycle of the project,to meet the needs of customers,let customers feel satisfied.The quality planning must take the customer demand as the starting point,transforms the customer demand into the project internal executable quality goal.Quality assurance must strengthen the standardization of the research and development process,improve the audit mechanism,promote the quality management,and implement the continuous improvement mechanism.The quality control must unify the quality standard,the reasonable allocation resources,simultaneously guarantees the project output document quality.
