The Impact Of Agricultural Agglomeration On Agricultural Total Factor Productivity

Agricultural production distribution is crucial to agricultural development,and agricultural agglomeration,as a typical agricultural industry distribution phenomenon,can bring economies of scale,higher productivity and stronger industrial competitiveness.The transformation of development mode,the optimization of economic structure and the transformation of growth drivers require more attention to the role of total factor productivity(TFP),and the role of agricultural TFP has become increasingly prominent in agricultural development.In the context of the supply-side structural reform of agriculture and the strategy of "rural revitalization",agricultural agglomeration and agricultural TFP are highly valued by the academic and political circles.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to study the impact of agricultural agglomeration on agricultural TFP.The paper is divided into seven parts.The first part introduces the background,basis and significance of the topic,main research content,research structure and innovation.In the second part,relevant theories and studies on the effects of agricultural agglomeration,agricultural TFP and industrial agglomeration on TFP are reviewed,finding that there is little literature involving agriculture agglomeration effects on agricultural TFP.The third part constructs the theoretical basis of agricultural agglomeration,agricultural TFP and the influence of agricultural agglomeration on agricultural TFP,points out the internal relationship between agricultural agglomeration and agricultural TFP,and puts forward the influence mechanism of agricultural agglomeration on agricultural TFP.The fourth part mainly carries on the measurement of the agricultural agglomeration and the agricultural TFP,and the analysis of them.In the fifth part,empirical analysis is carried out by using systematic GMM model based on relevant data of Chinese agriculture to verify the influence of agricultural agglomeration on agricultural TFP.In the sixth part,based on the theoretical and empirical analysis above,the evolution and improvement path of agricultural agglomeration and agricultural TFP are constructed under a unified structure.The seventh part summarizes the conclusions of this paper and points out theshortcomings and prospects of this study.This paper constructs the theoretical basis of the influence of agricultural agglomeration on agricultural total factor productivity.On the one hand,this paper deeply investigates the internal relationship between agricultural agglomeration and agricultural total factor productivity.Based on the logical chain of “division of labor—spatial externalities—increasing returns—agricultural agglomeration—improved production efficiency—economic effects of agricultural agglomeration,since the division of labor is the source of productivity gains and agricultural cluster,the internal relations between agricultural agglomeration and agricultural TFP can be reflected through the division of labor;since the mechanism of increasing return can effectively improve TFP,and the mechanism of increasing return is also an determinant for the formation of agricultural agglomeration,the internal relationship between agricultural agglomeration and agricultural TFP also lies in the mechanism of increasing return;the relationship between agricultural agglomeration and agricultural TFP is also manifested as the organic combination of agglomeration in the spatial dimension and economic growth in the time dimension.On the other hand,this paper analyzes the influence mechanism of agricultural agglomeration on agricultural TFP from the perspectives of agricultural technological progress and agricultural economic efficiency improvement.Agricultural agglomeration promotes agricultural technological progress by expanding the demand and market capacity of agricultural technologies,increasing farmers' effective demand for agricultural technologies,promoting technology supply and demand matching,reducing technology adoption risks,promoting agricultural technology diffusion and supporting microeconomic organizations.Agricultural agglomeration promotes the improvement of agricultural economic efficiency by promoting the practical and effective use of technology,giving play to the brand effect of agglomeration,promoting the improvement of agricultural comparative interests,promoting the improvement of market efficiency,promoting the change of farmers' economic nature,reducing transaction costs and improving micro-economic organization.The system GMM method are employed to empirically test the effect of agricultural cluster to the agricultural TFP.The empirical results show that the effect of agricultural agglomeration on the agricultural TFP growth is significantly positive and and this effect is mainly attributed to the promotion of technological progress by agricultural agglomeration,yet the improvement of agricultural economic efficiency by agglomeration is not statistically significant,because the role of agricultural agglomeration in management innovation and system innovation,and therefore in promoting agricultural economic efficiency,are not perfectly performed.Based on the results of empirical analysis,the evolution and improvement paths of agricultural agglomeration and TFP are agricultural further analyzed.From the perspective of agricultural agglomeration,to improve the total factor productivity of agriculture,it is necessary to perform the role of agricultural agglomeration in the agglomeration and quality improvement of factors,the enhancement of the induced technological progress and the advancement of technological spillover in order to boost agricultural technological progress,and the role of agricultural agglomeration as an important carrier to catch up with the technological frontier and in micro-organization innovation and management mode reform in order to promote the economic efficiency.From the perspective of the improvement of agricultural TFP,in order to realize the evolution of agricultural agglomeration oriented by the growth of agricultural TFP,it is necessary to increase the specialization degree and economies of scale in the horizontal dimension and deepen the division of labor and the integration of industrial chains in the vertical dimension.Therefore,the following breakthrough points are proposed: to boost the productive service industries and perfect the agricultural socialization service system;to build up animate microeconomic organization;to alleviate "non-grain conversion" of agricultural land and ensure food security;to connect with the structural reform of agricultural supply side.
