Poverty has always been one of the most important problems in the world.Since reform and opening up,great progress has been made in poverty reduction.According to statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics,in the past seventy years,China's poverty reduction population has reached more than 700 million, and its contribution to world poverty reduction has exceeded 70%,making it become the country that has largest number of people in poverty reduction. However, with the rapid development of economy, the poverty problem in China presents complex and multi-dimensional characteristics.Income is no longer the only standard to measure poverty, which is reflected in medical care, education, housing, pension and other aspects. In order to alleviate multi-dimensional poverty,China has introduced relevant policies for financial poverty alleviation to help achieve poverty alleviation in 2020.In addition, urbanization is an objective trend of social and economic development, which influences and promotes each other with financial development, and its main goal is to eliminate poverty. Therefore, both financial development and urbanization are important means to alleviate multidimensional poverty. In this context, this article combines financial poverty reduction research and urbanization poverty reduction research to explore their impact on multidimensional poverty.Existing researches on financial development and poverty,as well as urbanization and poverty, are more abundant, but few of them are combined to jointly explore their impact on multiple poverty. And most of them study their impact on income poverty and urban-rural income gap.In addition, most existing studies are empirical studies without model support. Therefore, this paper will explore the impact of financial development and urbanization on multidimensional poverty from both theoretical and empirical perspectives.First of all,in the literature review section, this paper will sort out relevant literature from four aspects:financial development and poverty, urbanization and poverty, financial development and urbanization,as well as financial development, urbanization and multidimensional poverty,to provide literature support for this paper.Secondly,in the concept and theoretical explanation section, this article will introduce related concepts of multidimensional poverty, financial development, and urbanization, and introduce related theories of endogenous economic growth. In addition, this part will explain why the theory of endogenous economic growth can be used to analyze the problem of multidimensional poverty. The next part is the theoretical model. In this chapter, this article builds a theoretical model on financial development, urbanization, and multiple poverty. It is concluded that financial development and multidimensional poverty are positively related, and urbanization and multidimensional poverty are positive U-shaped nonlinearities relationship. Finally,in this empirical research section, this paper uses provincial panel data from 2005 to 2018 to test the impact of financial development and urbanization on multidimensional poverty. This paper divides multidimensional poverty into four dimensions, namely income, medical care, education, pensions for the elderly. The study has found that financial development can reduce multidimensional poverty. In the early days, urbanization was conducive to the reduction of multidimensional poverty, but when urbanization developed to a certain extent, the development of urbanization was not conducive to the reduction of multidimensional poverty. In order to better study the impact of financial development and urbanization on multidimensional poverty, this article also divides the country into two parts, rural and urban, and further explores the impact of the two on multidimensional poverty,so as to put forward more effective suggestions for reducing multidimensional poverty.
