Measurement And Factors Analysis Of Multidimensional Poverty In Rural Families In China

Poverty is a manifestation of the living conditions of the people,and is one of the most concerned problems in the world.At present,our country is in the stage of building a well-off society,"Targeted poverty alleviation,shake off poverty accurately" is one of the most important tasks that our government has paid much attention to.General secretary Xi Jinping put forward in the report of the nineteen major conferences,"eliminate poverty,improve people’s livelihood and achieve common prosperity is the essential requirement of socialism".He also points out that the key to solving the problem of poverty is to solve the problem of rural poverty in China.It can be seen that the study of rural poverty has an important practical significance for the development of our country at the present stage.With the development of society,the problem of rural poverty in China shows many complicated characteristics.The method of poverty research from a single income dimension is more and more unsuitable for China’s national conditions.In recent years,domestic scholars have begun to explore the problem of poverty from a multidimensional perspective.This article is based on the previous research,with the CHNS database,using method of Multidimensional Poverty Index and combined with A-F method,to calculate the Multidimensional Poverty Index of rural family in China,and established the multiple Logit ranking selection model to analysis the factors of China’s rural family multidimensional poverty.The specific contents of the study are as follows:Firstly,based on the Multidimensional Poverty Index and the A-F method,by adjusting the more suitable Multidimensional Poverty Measurement Index and critical value and weight,to measured the Multidimensional Poverty Situation in rural areas of China;Secondly,by establishing multivariate Logit ranking selection model,we studied the influencing mechanism of household related variables,such as family size,the ratio of family labor population and area on the Multidimensional Poverty Situation of rural families in China.By measuring and decomposing the Multidimensional Poverty Index of rural families in China,we found that,from the year 1990 to 2010,the population of extreme poverty in rural areas of China has been reduced and the poverty level of the poor is deepened.It is diff-icult for rural families to get drinking water and the water quality is not guaranteed.But there is a great improvement in income and health insurance,the two is no longer the main causes of poverty.The years of education,transportation and health care has become a new round of poverty factors.The best living conditions of the rural population in the provinces were Shandong and Jiangsu Province,but there is an obvious high dimension of poverty in Jiangsu Province,it does not match the developed state of economic.The most poverty-stricken areas are Henan and Hunan Province,and Hubei Province also has serious high dimension poverty.Through the analysis of multidimensional poverty factors of China’s rural families,we found that a family which the head of the household is female,in marriage,higher education and higher proportion of the family labor population tend to having a lower degree of poverty.The two factors affecting the Multidimensional Poverty of rural families in China are the gender and educational level of the head of the household.Finally,the following enlightenment are that,during the next rural poverty alleviation work,we should focus on the distinction between state and the depth of poverty factors within the regions,pay attention to the infrastructure construction and the rational distribution of resources in the poor areas.All local governments need to conduct field visits and conduct a comprehensive investigation,dividing the poor people according to the poverty level,take different measures to help the poor people,to achieving targeted and efficiently support.In the end,we should also encourage poor people to attach importance to ideological education,emancipate their minds and achieve spiritual poverty.
