Research On The Influence Of Transportation Facilities On Manufacturing Agglomeration In Northwest China

As the basic condition of people's social and economic life,transportation facilities are the guarantee of intra-regional or inter-regional communication.In the fifth plenary session of the 15 th central committee of the communist party of China,it was pointed out that the western development and the promotion of regional coordinated development should be incorporated into China's development strategy.With the large-scale development of the western region and the continuous rise of labor cost in the eastern region,China's manufacturing industry has shown a centralized development to the western region.Therefore,the role played by the transportation facilities in northwest China in the process of the continuous development of the manufacturing industry to the western region is worthy of attention and analysis.This paper adopts the prefecture-level panel data of northwest China from 2000 to 2017.Firstly,it analyzes the freight volume of railway and highway,and calculates and analyzes the density of comprehensive transportation facilities.Secondly,the mechanism of transportation facilities on manufacturing agglomeration is analyzed from three aspects:traffic accessibility,network and factor flow.Furthermore,the manufacturing agglomeration degree of each prefecture-level city is analyzed by using static and dynamic location entropy.Finally,with location entropy as the dependent variable and traffic density,highwaydensity and railway density as the explanatory variables,a spatial measurement model was established for research.The research conclusions are as follows:The concentrated development of manufacturing industry in northwest prefecture-level cities shows the characteristics of strong spatial dependence.The trend of manufacturing agglomeration is consistent with the spatial distribution of transportation facilities.There is a direct proportion between the construction of transportation facilities and the geographical concentration of manufacturing industry,which indicates that the improvement of transportation facilities can promote the further concentration of manufacturing industry in space.Compared with the railway,highway have bigger influence on the manufacturing industry agglomeration,but related scholars from the Angle of the two eastern area and the national related content study compared with the highway,railway for manufacturing agglomeration influential to the conclusion that the two results are against each other,show that because of the low level of economic development in northwest China,the railway infrastructure is imperfect,mainly rely on the highway to transport.
