As major agricultural countries in the world, the BRICS countries play an extremely important role in their trade cooperation and development. With the continuous improvement of the BRICS countries' opening to the outside world and the gradual deepening of the cooperation mechanism, the agricultural trade between China and other BRICS countries has grown rapidly. However,in the agricultural product trade with other BRICS countries, the development of China's agricultural product export trade lags significantly behind imports,so the agricultural product trade deficit widens year by year.In this context,it is of great practical significance to analyze the potential of China's agricultural product exports to the other BRICS countries, and to propose countermeasures to promote China's agricultural product exports to the other BRICS countries, thereby improving the trade deficit. As traditional barriers have gradually reduced the hindrance to a country's trade, and “trade inefficiencies” such as customs clearance procedures and infrastructure have become increasingly visible as an invisible barrier to trade, the impact of trade facilitation on trade potential has caused widespread attention. From this perspective, this article intends to explore China's agricultural product export potential to other BRICS countries. The article starts with the analysis of the current situation of agricultural products in China and the other BRICS countries.First,it builds a trade facilitation evaluation system and uses the principal component analysis method to calculate the trade facilitation scores of the five BRICS countries from 2008 to 2017.By establishing an extended gravitational model, the coefficient of trade facilitation and its first-level indicators on China's agricultural exports are calculated from the two levels of the whole BRICS countries and each BRICS country, and the export potential is estimated based on this. Then give the corresponding suggestions on how to stimulate the export potential of agricultural products. The empirical results show that: overall, the level of trade facilitation in BRICS countries is relatively low,and compared with other factors, the improvement of the level of trade facilitation in importing and exporting countries has the greatest impacton China's agricultural product export potential. From the perspective of the first-level indicators of trade facilitation, the effects of various first-level indicators on agricultural trade are different.Among them, the most important factor is the level of infrastructure. From the perspective of China-Russia,China-India,China-Brazil,China-South Africa bilateral trade, the most influential first-level indicators vary. Therefore,it is necessary to clarify China's different trade facilitation goals for other BRICS countries, and different cooperation strategies should be adopted for different countries to maximize the development of export potential.Among them,Russia is China's country with the greatest potential for expanding agricultural product exports, and it should be regarded as the focus and breakthrough of China and the other BRICS countries in promoting trade facilitation cooperation.
